Lv 6 Togepi? WTH!

Ok so I realize that the HGSS blogs are probably overdone, but this is seriously one of the best WTH moments I've had in the games. I battled Morty earlier today and since my Pupitar (yes I traded myself a Larvitar egg to use as a starter) got the curse from Morty's gastly, I had recalled it and healed it using Togepi as stall.
Morty sends out Gengar and begins with hypnosis, which fails. I begin healing Pupitar but before I could do more than apply one potion, Gengar uses Mean Look! Great![/sarcasm] so Topgepi go back and forth for about 11 minutes trading attacks. Missed suckerpunch, hypnosis, Shadow Balls, and Mean Looks from gengar ar countered with growls, Metronomes, and extrasensorys from Togepi. After a while topgepi whittles down gengar to half HP when Gengar starts using Struggle. Struggle does less than a quarter damage to togepi for some reason while taking away more from gengar with the recoil.
The outcome! A level 6 Togepi defeated a Level 25 Gengar! WTH!

I had sent out an Eevee against a Gastly so my Crobat would stop taking damage from Curse (also in Morty's gym, just against a regular trainer though), but the Gastly Mean Looked my Eevee. Unfortunately, its Curse made me use up all my Potions, and while the Curse would've killed my Eevee in the end, the Gastly used Struggle :>Posted March 15th, 2010 at 09:05 PM by Lucy

Togepi leveled up to 11 after that battle.
Also in unrelated news I managed to capture all three legendary dogs, Entei, Raikou, and Suicune (in that order) within an hour last night. Thank you strategy from original GSC that still works wonders!Posted March 18th, 2010 at 06:15 PM by Gerri Shin
