Dear GameFreak,
It is with a heavy heart that I write this. I am not writing this asking for any favors, or anything of that ilk. I am merely writing to you, asking you, begging you, to please stop trolling us. Look, I get it, its how you get your giggles. It must be boring working in an office all day and I can sympathyze with that. But please stop trolling us. I mean, what happened? Generation 1 was so good. Maybe its nostalgia, maybe its because everything was shiny and new. I really liked the simple designs of pokemon. They were simple, yet elegant. Plain, but bold. Generation 2, had the same appeal. Simple designs based off of real(ish) animals. I liked it. Generation 3 was when you started getting a little out of control. You started "experimenting" with designs and stuff, pushing envelope more and more, putting new mechanics into the game, giving new designs. I respect that, everyone has to see how far they can go, test their limits etc. It was okay, but not your best work. Generation 4. ":|" It was, how can I say this, "awfulawfulawful" as Anti would say. I mean, some of the designs were terrible. DP was fun though, but plat was terribad. I really liked how you decided to troll us with Outrage's Base Power moved to 140, gave it to Salamence and made the move Draco Meteor, basically a special version of Outrage. I mean, what the hell were you thinking? Bullet Punch Scizor? Outrage Mence? <insert other bad ideas that came from Platinum> Its all terrible. Oh yeah, I know it was for the purpose of "getting people to purchase the game" but honestly, think of us too. The competitive players. We like seeing more than the same 12-15 pokemon over and over in our matches. I get tired of seeing Scizor, Jirachi, Rotom-A (also a bad idea). On every good team, at least one of those three, and there are more, are on it. You guys really made the metagame, in OU at least, boring as hell. I mean, there are still some fun pokemon to use every now and then, but we can't do too much outside the norm and get a winning record going.
So, with all of the above being said. I want you do know, I haven't given up hope yet. I have a small window of hope open, and I hope that the window becomes larger. I don't want to quit Pokemon, its fun and I get enjoyment from it. But to be quite honest I, and many others, do not have high hopes for this generation or the future of the Pokemon franchise. Go back to your roots. Where you started. Back in the good old days when Blastoise was the best starter.
Sincerely,

" Go back to your roots. Where you started. Back in the good old days when Blastoise was the best starter."
Yet when they went with a retro title, they got blasted this that whole incident.
I'm curious, what DOES gamefreak have to do? I don't think they'll ever get out of the bad spotlight, we expect far too much and buy their products regardless of our opinion. Ya'know, what if they just stopped the entire juggernaut, I wonder whether people would still want more generations.
Eh, food for thought I guess.Posted May 9th, 2010 at 06:17 PM by BeachBoy

Yeah, I did go a little retro, but I loved Blastoise. So strongth. I'm not saying like make the game super dominated by one type like it was in RBY, and like it is now. But better designs is what I meant. I mean, lets face it and be honest, Gen4 had awful designs *glares at Rhyperior*.Quote:" Go back to your roots. Where you started. Basically, make better designs, and less trollish moves. I mean, Specs Draco Meteor from Latias can 2HKO basically every steel type that is supposed to be able to live it. I want a less one sided metagame. Not a game dominated by Steels/Dragons. Its awful.
Jynx or Eggy was more broken than Alakazam.Quote:
Also, the current metagame is dominated by several centralizing pokemon, as you well know, RSE was actually the best metagame imo as far as not being centralized around a small group of pokemon. RBY was centralized around Psychics; GSC was centered around Snorlax; RSE didn't really have on; DPP is centered around Tar/Scizor/Mence/Latias/Rotom-a.Posted May 10th, 2010 at 01:14 AM by .Gamer
