Natural Born Spriters... I envy you.

What kills me the most is trying to sprite.
It's like the most essential thing to anything Pokemon and yet my sprite attempts are all very, very sad. xD
I ENVY NATURAL BORN SPRITERS. I'm going to try that method of scanning a picture and then tracing over it though. Can't I just use a solid brush in Photoshop on a large canvas and then scale it down to the appropriate sprite size? I may have to try this.
I've been wanting to but I'm lazy =3= Tips, suggestions, anyone?

The thing is, scanning pictures might be a better option, but instead of tracing with a brush, you integrate yourself with the pixels. I used to sprite and I have some management in graphics, so yes.
And maybe a monitor with a large pixel pitch would be useful. Also dither more than trying to antialias colors.Posted February 26th, 2011 at 10:20 PM by AdvancedK47
