Summer Movie Review

Being a person that sees a lot of film, I figured I'll make a movie blog about the ones I go see, and the one's I plan on seeing in the future.

First up, The Hangover, Part II

Did I die laughing at this one? Yes. As much as the first? No. Don''t get me wrong, I still loved the movie, as it has all my favorite people in it. I worship Bradley Cooper btw. I guess I'll go with the main critique everybody had, It was literally just the same scenario as the first film, just tweaked a bit - Thailand instead of Vegas, etc. Still worth seeing. I love pretty much every Todd Philips movie. Basically, It's the ultimate frat boy movie, go with your buddies for a good laugh. Ladies, you can go too, but you probably won't appreciate it as much as the guys will.

X-Men: First Class

I will be honest. I didn't have much faith in the movie when I first saw it. (looking at the last X-Men film,. and The Wolverine) Needless to say, I was delightfully wrong. This is one of the best Superhero movies I've ever seen, and by far the best X-Men film. The acting is better, the plot is more concise and clear, and things just seems to gel in this movie. Michael Fassbender (Eric/Magneto), Kevin Bacon (Sebastian Shaw), and James McAvoy, (Charles Xavier) as well as Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Raven (Jennifer Lawrence) really stick out in the acting department. Seeing Kevin Bacon as the bad guy is actually pretty cool and a great deviation from his usual. This one I'd go see again.

Transformers: Dark of The Moon

Say what you want about Michael Bay - This movie was great. It was incredibly funny too, I laughed more at Transformers than I did at the Hangover 2. Shia LeBeouf is really becoming a great actor. The addition of Ken Jeong (Hangovers 1 & 2) and Alan Tudyk, (The crazy Dutch Body guard of John Turturro's character) provides enough entertainment for two movies. Seriously, they're hilarious in this. And, as expected, the action is insane. The last 45 minutes to an hour of the movie is the best action sequence in cinema, as the Deceptions annihilate Chicago and a few million people, before the Autobots arrive and all hell breaks loose in the battle. It was really, really good, and I recommend it highly. Also, the movie featured a great soundtrack, with a new single from Paramore - "Monster" among them. The soundtrack is worth the buy, in my opinion - Linkin Park, Staind, Taking Back Sunday, Biffy Clyro, Black Veil Brides, among others. Look to buy this one on DVD the minute it comes out.

Next up!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part II.

No intention of seeing The Hangover... Again! or Transformers: Pink Floyd Name Rip-off. I liked X-Men, although it's been a while since I've seen the others (and by 'others' I mean the first two) so can't really compare them the way you did.

So, get your ass down to C&M, Livey!

Absolutely enjoyed seeing Transformers. Like the last two, I really enjoyed it. For me, I don't consider myself a critic when it comes to things. Nor do I pay attention to what a critic might have to say about any movie in particular. I go for entertainment, no expectation, and I enjoy myself. But I found Transformers to be really good. The only let down, for me, was no Megan Fox. The new female wasn't as bad as I might have thought, but Megan Fox would have been great to have instead.

I haven't gotten to see the new X-Men movie (though I do want to), but I know I'm going to see Harry Potter in only a matter of days now! :)

Best scene in First Class right here.

Michael Bay... Pearl Harbor. I'm sorry after that I can't subject myself to any more of what he puts out.

I loved the Hangover, especially the parts with Ken Jeong. It was pretty much as you said replacing Vegas with Bangkok.

I am ready to see Captain America, maybe they have a led in to The Avengers. And of course HP DH2.
