I got someone fired
It was their fault completely too, but I was the person who kind of..set up the whole thing?
So, I work at Taco Bell and I just started so I am still in training.
Anyways, I was pulling the meat out of where it gets cooked, and someone comes up to me and the following conversation occured:
Person: Hey, you don't have to do that.
Me: But we need beef. We're almost out and if we wait until we are out the customers will have to wait way longer than they're supposed to and it's a bar night so we're even more busy. We also need to have some back up so we don't have to keep leaving the line to stock up.
Person: I know, but you're creating more dishes for me to clean.
Me: Not really, either I do this now or I do it in 10 minutes. Both times will require the same amount of dishes.
Person: Whatever just stop it and grab what you need.
So, I put the beef back into the water (it's boiled) and only got what we needed - assuming the guy would just do it himself.
About 20 minutes later, both lines were out of beef and when we went to get the beef it was all over-cooked and we couldn't use it. It would take 20 minutes just to remake all the beef that was needed. And instantaneously that guy goes to the manager saying that it was completely my fault (I am just assuming based on the manager's questions towards myself), "Why did you only get the beef we needed instead of making back up beef too?"
So, I explained how he told me not to and again, he just pops out of no where screaming that I am a liar and a poor employee who should be fired (a reminder, I am just a trainee.)
The manager then just goes to his office and views all the camera logs, sure enough he was able to gather from the video that I was right.
The manager brought this to the person who told me not to create back-up beef and he says (this is a direct quote to the best of my ability)
"Oh my god you can't be serious! Steven (me) obviously created fake video and put it there to frame me."
The manager quickly responded with "You're fired. Bye."
The manager approached me by the end of my shift, apologized for the entire situation and explained how he was looking for a reason to fire that guy for months.
