Just because that's my favourite location in Pokemon ever. And it's just like me - a bit dark, full of secrets but with some fantactic views and it's a home for something special.

Both of the games Mac suggested are good. If you're a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series the game that just came out is a very solid addition to the franchise. Kid Icarus and the Tales game are also supposed to be very good, and Devil Survivor: Overclocked although that's mainly a port to the 3DS so if you've played the original no point in playing this one.

Mario 3D Land is a must-have game for any 3DS owner, and any platformer fan. Although the game is perhaps too easy at first, the game makes up for it with absolute near-perfect level designs, great controls and amazing visuals. The game is absolute eye-candy, and this is perhaps the best controlling 3D Mario game. The pacing is also done perfectly.
This is also my favorite 3D Mario game because it feels more like a traditional platformer than 64, Sunshine and the Galaxy games. Though it feels like different beast because of it combining 2D Mario and 3D Mario. The game is pretty much Crash Bandicoot 2 meets Mario Galaxy.

But the game is short, and while the level design is amazing there's not much variety to the levels. It also starts out really easy, and the game only starts getting brilliant after you beat the main world. Perhaps the weakest aspect of the game is the bosses, with only three overall that you have to fight numerous times. Though despite that, it's still one of the best Mario games out there, and it really rewards the player for learning how to play.

Kid Icarus: Uprising and Metal Gear Solid 3DS: Snake Eater are great. (Kid Icarus is a unique, charming game with full of innovation and MGS 3DS is actually a great start to the series if you haven't tried it before and is arguably the definitive version of the game.)

EDIT: I also forgot to mention that 3D Land has a loooot of speed-run potential and and the most techniques in a 3D Mario if you care about that stuff.

I bought Harvest Moon: A Tale of Two Towns today and I'm really enjoying it, but it's a game where you have to be a fan of the franchise otherwise you'll be bored stiff by it, so I'd research first xD

Mario 3D Land and Mario Kart 7 are both good titles to have, and with New Super Mario Bros 2 coming out soon, that game might be in high demand.

    Thanks for all suggestions!
@ OoT - I'm borowing it tomorrow, so I'll test it. I completed the game on n64, and I'm not sure is it worth buying.

@ MK7 - it's on my want list, but with a low priority. I had a chance to play it and it's pretty much the same as DS's MK.

@ SM3DL - same as MK7 tho Mario is 2D only for me, so I won't buy it any soon, but yeah, it's still on my list.

@ Harvest Moon - just like you've said, Andy - you have to be HM fan to like it and I'm not. Not my type of entertainment

@ MGS - I've never been a fan of any sort of military games.

@ KI:U - Kid Icarus is one of the main reasons I bought 3DS for. it's high priority, but it's also high price D:

@ NSMB2 - Ive seen some gameplays and I'm really looking forward for the premiere of the game, idk if I'll be able to buy it tho D:

I haven't played it, but I heard the 3DS version is the best way to play the game. If you loved the original, then why not try the game now with better visuals and framerate?

I've played both, and put a lot of hours into MKDS. I'll tell you this: It's very different, aside from the map.

3D Land is pretty much 2D Mario in 3D. That's why I think it's a lot like classic Crash Bandicoot games, since it's actually 2.5D.

If you mean like shooter games - then MGS isn't one. But if you mean you don't like the military theme then I can understand. (MGS is still a unique series with great characters and story though)

Picking only from the games that are confirmed to exist, the absolute must-have titles will be Monster Hunter 4, New Super Mario Bros. 2 and Phoenix Wright vs Professor Layton.

MH ranks as my favourite series of all time right next to Pokemon, Golden Sun and Phoenix Wright, so it's pretty much a no-brainier for me. Note however that CPP will almost certainly be a mandatory buy, as the game has rather complex controls and the gameplay itself is very demanding (read: you WILL get killed a lot). As for you Gonzo... hm, I would try out some of the earlier instalments to see if the game fits your tastes. Or even better, wait for me to get MH4 and I'll show you the basics. It's certainly not the game for everyone (the series lacks universal appeal like, say, Mario), but if you ever liked difficult games I'd strongly recommend keeping an eye on it. The game will be released somewhere in 2013 IIRC.

NSMB 2... do I really need to explain? We all played the original, we all loved the single player and we all lost hours on playing the minigames together. All will be well.

PW vs PL - well, you tried out both of the series so you should know what to expect (this time with even more cutscene goodness and much better graphics~). I personally love both series to death (PW more so than PL, but still), as does Golem, but I don't really know your opinion of those two (although I know that the first impressions were really good). Did you even finish playing Curious Village and Apollo?
