Do you do the same?

Posted August 2nd, 2011 at 9:53 AM by Miss Doronjo

Does this happen with you -- Whenever I have an avatar, I have a habit on pretending that my persona is like the character that's in my avatar. Even this avatar, on whom I have no idea who she is; It guess me a sense that I should be freaked out with every response. XD Of course, this doesn't happen all the time! I guess at certain times when I'm tired, excited, etc.

Another example is my last avatar; which was Rita Mordio; when I'm bored, I guess I acted more level headed. -shrug-

And of course, if I have a Ema Skye avatar; play the drinking game on whenever I say the word science!

Or maybe this was all scrambled up into just one big personality with me? :3

YES OMG. If I have a badass avatar, I act all badass. If my avatar is really cute, I tend to act very feminine and post a lot more smilies. Then more uhhh what's the word...avatars that are more abstract or artsy, yeah. You get it. lol I kinda conform to my avatar without really trying. XD

Oh yes. Been much more flirtatious with Jack as my avatar. ;) Also when I had Dent I was generally quite formal but flamboyant. I'm sure you all have noticed this lol.

Such things do not happen to me, as far as I'm aware.

I had Luna Lovegood as my avatar for a while, and it made me crazy outspoken. Not kidding.

I honestly don't think I act like my avatar. Unless it's a character with a persona similar to mine :B But I don't feel very much like Mystogan right now. Wendy, on the other hand...

No I don't display tendencies or actions of the characters in my avatar. If I did I would fear that I'd have split personalities 0_o.

I don't know how much it affects me, it does, but not always (most of the time my avatars aren't too easy to personify) but it definitely reflects how I view others. Like, I can't help it, but I feel like that's who I am talking to.

While my avatar doesn't necessarily always affect my character or anything like that; it IS a reflection of myself or my interests, which change and shift like the wind itself.

Most often they can reflect my mood or feelings; and sometimes the persona in which I choose to interface with. I don't shift my avatar and theme TOO often though, for sometimes it's a better reminder of how I want to be, or ought to be for the moment and this is especially helpful for moments I'm just in a quixotic mood. Currently balancing ideal of a signature modification or new avatar, currently not very interested in that yet.

My signature and avatar don't necessarily need to match. The combination can reflect the personae I have, their status and level of influence.

Currently Amu is in the Avatar position: Gentler persona is in power; she's dressed for a day on the beach and is enjoying ice cream. Laid back and pretty well unprovoked and warm. She winks playfully.
Ren/Len Kagamine in Signature Position: Signifies balance, regardless of who has "The power" the both co-operate, much like twins. One can finish the other's sentences, and sometimes even the shift in persona is seamless and gradual. Other times it is sudden. It's normal and not unstable.

I sometimes try and act like my current avatar.

I did it quite a lot, especially if it was something like Julian Assange. I even changed my online gender to match my avatar.
