Guess how much I spent on textbooks today...

I just purchased the textbooks I need for this semester, and I can't believe how much I spent. I spent $546 on four tiny textbooks. That's the most I ever have spent for books. What annoys me is that it's only four tiny books, not like 8 big books. The money you spend for stuff like this at college is insane. They're robbing us blind. When is it okay for textbooks to cost more than the actual classes?!

Now that you have the books maybe you can research their ISBN numbers online and see if you can't find the same editions somewhere else for cheaper and then return the books you originally bought to the store once your cheaper books arrive.
I've worked in a college bookstore (and gotten a lot of angry people complaining to me about prices) and this is what I'd tell them to try.Posted January 30th, 2013 at 07:38 PM by Scarf

Textbooks are way overpriced, I swear people price them way more than they should be worth since they know students will buy them for classes. I refuse to buy textbooks if they're over $80 anymore and usually that doesn't cause me any problems since I can either get them other ways or borrow a friend's/check the library. D: But not everyone is as lucky, ugh.Posted January 30th, 2013 at 10:27 PM by Cirno
