This has been my motto this school semester and it just started.
Not good.
At all.
I need a new motto.
I don't know how to not procrastinate. I was going to pull out the internet but all (or most) of my assignments need to be done online. Though, when I'm writing papers from now on out I'm going to try and make sure that Tumblr isn't open in the background. As much as I tell myself not to do these things I end up doing them anyway and push off my homework to a later date. I'm making myself perform under pressure and, well, I don't do too terribly, which is why I think I keep doing it. Except tomorrow I have like a total of seven different assignments to do, which I don't know how I'm going to accomplish.
Does anyone know how to beat procrastination?
I almost put off this blog.

What I like to do, is set a deadline for myself like about 5 or so days before the actual deadline and fool myself that it is THE deadline I need to hit. I may still procrastinate, but I will procrastinate for that earlier deadline, so I will still technically have time to revise or work on it later just in case I really can't make it.
Set a schedule for yourself. And be a tough cookie and stick to it.Posted January 30th, 2013 at 06:37 PM by Kura

I feel ya on that one!
I always put set deadlines but then also push them off. I know I need to get better at forcing myself to stick to deadlines. I really like the smaller pieces because if I know that I only have a small portion of work to do than I'm more likely to do it. I'm going to try to implement that with further papers and assignments!Quote:Still searching for more ways myself, but really, what you need to do is force yourself to do it. Set your own deadlines and break the assignment up into much smaller pieces and set deadlines for when you demand of yourself that you have those smaller pieces of the assignment done.
If I could fool myself that would be the best thing ever but in the back of my mind I'm like, well, that's not the actual due date so I can wait a few more days.Quote:What I like to do, is set a deadline for myself like about 5 or so days before the actual deadline and fool myself that it is THE deadline I need to hit. I need to work on that tough cookie act because that is what my real downfall is at. I'm much too lenient on myself.
i.e tonight I'm doing a paper that's due tomorrow and right now it's 14 minutes until 12 am. Never again, I say, never again.Posted January 31st, 2013 at 05:47 AM by Retro Bug
