You spent how much?!

Posted February 3rd, 2013 at 05:32 AM by Retro Bug

I totally missed a day because I was too busy watching TV and not looking at the clock.

My streak is ruined. Time to start over.

I have to say that I'm one of the worst people when it comes to budgeting my money. Yesterday, I saw that a store that I liked was having a clearance sale so I bought a bunch of stuff and then decided I need shoes to go with some of my outfits so bought those too. I'm meaning to be saving my money incase I decide I want to go to this thing over Spring Break but I'm so bad at it. Especially now that I can online shop with my debit card! Holy mother, did that make things a whole lot easier. I just see all this stuff on Amazon (money killer right there folks) and I'm like "I NEED IT NOW" then proceed to checkout with not only that thing but probably three other items. I was thinking of buying a new phone AND iPod touch today simply because I wanted new ones. I didn't thankfully (only because I forgot) but I wish I was better at this.

my name is retro bug and I'm a shopaholic.

Keep all your receipts and at the end if the month tally them by different categories; food, bills, misc, and then by "want" spending so you can see what percentage of your income is going to wants vs needs. And also by how much you want to put aside for emergency funds when older. Set a budget and stick to it. So you can dip ibto your savings ( not your emergency money) when there arebigger sales or something you REALLY want.Good luck!

Oh my, thank you! I'm definitely going to do this. I've never known how to go about doing any budgeting but that's mainly because I'm lazy.
