Welcome to my blog! I'm still in the process of re-doing it's theme (after not touching it in two years), but hopefully the result isn't horrible or anything. In any case, I'm not going to promise you that what you'll be reading would be entertaining all the time, but I'll do my best! I also don't blog that often becuase I don't really find many things to blog about in my life (it's kinda boring mind you, yeah, nothing really goes on much), but in any case, do check in here whenever I've made an entry, and if you don't mind, leave a comment in here if you'd like. ^^; That'd be awesome.

Just some wise words.

If you're ever planning on working and going to school at the same time, just make sure that you're level-headed enough and that your life situation allows you to do so. What do I mean by that? Well, that's what I'm going to get into right now.

Not going to lie; I have a love/hate relationship with college right now. On paper, it's fantastic: You take the classes you want, you get credits for them if you pass, and then once you take all the necessary courses, you graduate, you get a degree. Or, that's how it should be anyway. But of course, hardly anything really going to plan that way.

When I went to school this semester, I was excited. I was working from July to December at SeaWorld and the long months of working and no school had me bored to bits. I just wanted to do SOMETHING with my life, something else other than just wake up, work, and go home. So I chose to take two classes: Math and Comp Applications.

To make this a long story short: I had trouble struggling with both. Not only do I have to deal with Seaworld giving me ridiculously long hours (it made for a nice paycheck, but still...), the fact that I'm also living in a hotel made things harder. See guys, I treasure my privacy. Everyone has their setting in which they'd prefer to do work, and I like to do work in a nice, quiet atmosphere. I literally cannot focus and the slightest thing to catch my attention would have me distracted for a while @_@;; So yeah.

Just..be strong guys. Don't rush headfirst into either getting a job, or going to school, or both. Be sure you know you can handle it because you don't know if the worst happens and either of them can destroy you from all of the stress.

I know this because I resigned from SeaWorld the first time for that reason. I worked at an extremely busy restaurant there, and I chose school over work, but still ending up half-bombing school, anyway. I just couldn't take it.

This time, I'm going to be smarter with my decisions. I'm going to make sure that I get my life in the right spot first, by focusing purely on work and saving enough money to know that I can be in a comfortable enough spot to spend not only on classes, but on personal wants as well.

Thanks all, for reading this.

Be strong Derk. I only wish the best for you in your decisions and I agree, the idea of working and going to school sounds amazingly stressful. I hope that working and then going to school works out for you. And I'm always here if you need help dealing with anything personal. :]
