The home stretch

No food, no water from sunrise to sunset. Could you do that for a day? A week, maybe? How bout a month, like in my case?

Well, Ramadan's been making me do just that. I remember blogging about "the last day of bliss" (bliss being food) on the day before Ramadan started, but here we are, with only one, maybe two more days left. It sucks that I can't be sure, but that's what happens when you base everything off the moon. But as soon as that new moon glorifies the world, Muslims everywhere will be celebrating the ending of another month-long test. Myself? I'll probably just be stuffing the **** out of myself with all the great food my mother's gonna be making for Eid (the holiday after the last day of Ramadan).

Ramadan was a lot easier this year than, well, ever. I dunno why really. If anything, it's supposed to have been one of the hardest, considering it's the summer. The time difference between sunrise to sunset is pretty close to 16 hours. How does one survive for that long without food or water? I don't know about you guys, but it's during this time every year when I come to realize how prevalent food and water are in my daily routine. And the fact that I can't have water has the affect of limiting what I can and can't do, for fear of dehydration. I basically spent those 16 hours by sleeping and going online. Definitely not a healthy way to spend the day.

Despite the seemingly monotonous month, there were a few days there were gems. Seeing as college is literally right around the corner, my friends and I have tried to get together as often as possible, and I wasn't going to let Ramadan stop me from seeing the people who I deem closest to me, short of family. Ice skating, pool, games, crashing at someone's house. All of that happened during Ramadan. I guess I can attribute moments like those as to why Ramadan (and summer as well) flew by a whole lot faster than I had anticipated.

And now here I am. Reflecting back on the past couple of weeks while at the same time trying to ignore the grumbles of my stomach and the weariness of my body (cause lack of food really tires me out, oddly enough). It'll all be over within a matter of hours.

And then it'll be all over! And the partying (well.... sorta) can begin. Eid should be fun, hopefully I can make at least $40 bucks. :3 Just gotta survive another few hours, and then I can finally get around to doing some of the stuff I miss. :3

Kudos to you. I can't even fathom how I would manage, I get hungry every few hours and in the recent heatwave we had, without a cold drink I would have just been fainting all over the place.

    Almost there :3 PIE. CAKE.

Ahh, it has been a hard month, and I've had University through Ramadan this year which is quite Unnerving. But, it looks like we've done it! I just had this day, then the celebrations on Eid Day! But I have learnt to be a whole lot more patient with myself, and not rush things, which is always good to learn. But other than that, we're running this one last lap. :3

I'm so American and so Jewish and so southern that I don't think I could ever do that. Kudos to y'all that can. And remember, if you need cool tips for college, you know where to find me. Holla.
