It's a game of adaptation [spoilers]

Many will probably dismiss my thoughts on the new Pokemon and consider them the usual pre-gen Pokemon banter, but I've got to say nonetheless that I'm rather disappointed with them. I confess I shared similar views on the Pokemon of generation V, but their designs I learned to adapt to, even the ugliest ones like Sigilyph and Cryogonal. With generation VI I suppose I'll have to do the same, but...I just don't think I will be able to warm to them in the way I did with the fifth generation 'mons.

But don't get me wrong, Generation VI does bring some Pokemon gems; Helioptile and Yveltal being two of many. Being in 3D is a plus too! Although I've got to admit it makes some Pokemon look rather too cartoon-like. (Take Litleo and Pyoar for example.) I love the idea of hordes, and Mega Evolutions are an interesting idea if executed correctly. Charizard X while I at first thought of as quite redundant, am finding it super cool. It sucks because I really want Yveltal and so I was planning to buy Pokemon Y, but I can really only get Charizard X in Pokemon X without having to trade/hack etc. Things change, advancements are made. Such we are witnessing and have witnessed over the course of this year to our beloved Pokemon franchise.

Many will probably dismiss my thoughts on the new Pokemon and consider them the usual pre-gen Pokemon banter, but I've got to say nonetheless just because we're in the early stages of our sixth gen journey, that doesn't mean we can sweep our disappointments under the carpet to rot. That carpet will begin to smell eventually and let's be honest, no one likes smelly carpet.

We used to have carpet in our old house but we got rid of it.

Anyways, it's early days, and to be fair you're judging on a bunch of low-quality photos for some of them! Wait until the games come out, see them in 3D for yourself, and meanwhile treat yourself to fanart. That can usually really warm you up to a design.

Worst comes to worse, the art of using them to bash up others should help you grow to appreciate them. ;p

Personally, I love all of them (well, ok except that bunny with the fists as ears. Wtf is that thing anyway).

I'm having the same problem, but I guess I'll just get Pokemon Y and trade for Mega Charizard X later, because Yveltal > all.

    I liked Sigilyph.

I'm warming up to some, even the keychain pokemon (I mean really?). But some of them are just plain bad or atleast to me, Clauncher and skrelps evo's, chesnaut, that evo of the ice pokemon with the weird body/head, the diamond pokemon is a cool idea but strange looking. Really different mindset this gen.
