I'd like some different Asian foods, please!

Oi, People of PC.

Does anyone around here have any suggestions for Asian cuisine that you'd like me & my family to try out? I'm getting sick & tired of Chinese stir fry, or Chinese Lava Food, as I call it.

Why do I call it that? It's because that damn stuff is so hot (temp. wise) that I just can't really eat it without letting it sit for a while to cool. Frankly, you'd need a mouth made out of asbestos to eat that stuff hot off the stove-top. & apparently, that's what my mom has...

That aside, got any suggestions?

I'll have to point out that the best Asian food is homemade, because it's just the way professionals have to change dishes so much it's almost completely different. In my country, at least. If you're going to have this cooked home then all the better.

You could try some nice Japanese sushi.

Yeah, sushi is not usually served hot so you only have to worry about burning your mouth with wasabi.

Somen is usually served cold. It's not a complete meal by itself though so you'd want to pair it with pickled veggies or something.

Nothing else that's not hot comes to mind at the moment.

Korean cold noodles? Chinese cold dishes? Anything from a Chinese deli - you buy the fried duck/bbq pork/chicken/pork cold or room temperature.

Korean Walnut cakes, bibimbap, real udon noodles, cheong fun, siu mai, bok choy... a lot of asian foods have fish sauce, oyster sauce, ginger, lemongrass, sesame seeds/oil, seafoods, and are well marinated. Try starting there.
