    Programming a necessity?

    well it definetly helps if the team's leader is a skilled scripter. But there are plenty of great games out there where the team leader isn't a scripter.
    I mean look at Malachite and Helio. Helio even says they don't have much advanced scripting but its still a great game.

    Programming a necessity?

    DESIGNING a game.. no.. but making it able to run and work.. yes.. unless you're doing one of those "click this link here" types of games.. then yes, I believe you do need programming.

    But to be part of a game development TEAM you don't need to be a programmer. I don't know programming and I've worked for a Xbox360/PS3 gaming studio and they liked my work. Depends on what you're going in for.

    Momentai. Forgive the ignorant people and let 'em wallow in their lack of knowledge if ya must. XD

    Though knowing how to program a little bit can help you in creating a game, it isnt required if you have the right tools. I've always felt most the same way. Why reinvent the wheel for a little game you're putting together in your spare time? XD
