So unfair we can live so much longer than our pets. I feel really sorry for you.
I beam a virtual hug along with this post, I hope you'll receive it.

Some of the hardest times in my life was when I've lost pets that were close to me.

....Heh. It's funny, this is something I've never really admitted to anyone before, but there you have it. I remember crying for days on end when I lost one of my dogs years ago.

Losing a pet is hard. They are a member of your family and it's so difficult to deal with, especially when it's one that you have had for so long. It's really disappointing that your family didn't wait on you to have the funeral. I am sure they had the best intentions with it, thinking it might be emotionally easier for you, but it isn't really. Saying your goodbyes are important when it comes to any type of loss. Just try to remember the fun memories you shared together :)

Thinking about you Sophie! <3 Sorry for your loss :(

We lost a guinea pig this year, so I feel for you. She was reaching four and had sooo much personality and energy that we just didn't consider that her death could be around the corner. And it all happened in the blink of an eye. In 2014 I lost four treasured animal companions, only one from old age. You're not alone, and I don't think there's anything wrong at all with being dramatic, it's normal! They were part of the family after all.

Just think of Toast in guinea pig heaven, watching over you with those cute little eyes and munching on her favourite foods, or snuggling up in the clouds. :)

*hugs and offers some gingerbread cake and banana custard*

Totally understandable to feel that way, pets are with us so long that they become a part of the family instead of just some animal.

My cat has terminal cancer right now so I really feel your pain.
Hope you cheer up soon nonetheless.

If you want shopping you go to Carnaby. (Also depends on what kind of shopping you want.. but generally for fashion stuff it's Carnaby street.)
It is off of regent street near oxford station. There is some good food around that area which is around King's Court. I recommend Pitt Cue if you can find it (awesome pulled pork) Oxford street and Regent street also has a lot of shopping stuff too. Hopefully you come when it's sale-season.

If you're a foodie and want to shop foodstuff I could recommend borough market, or even Harrods.

I've just been in London, Rome and Zurich so happy to tell you a couple of things - with Rome, Trastevere is a less touristy area with amazing cheaper food - had probably the best pasta of my life at a place there.

Zurich is expenisive but at the top of supermarkets they usually have these cool cafeteria things with really nice, fresh food. Also public transport in Zurich aka trams/trains are very good so take advantage of that!

London is really expensive but I've heard there is a really good food court under trafalga square. Try not to eat anywhere really touristy because its crap and really expensive. If you like curry definitely go to Brick Lane as it has amazing cheap curries. If you are interested in pub food - try not to go to gastro pubs they are basically just chains where people go to watch sport. I'd look online near where you're staying for an authentic pub.

Anyway, hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions!

    40 Hour Famine

I've done a semi-famine for a month. No eating between 5am and 9pm lol You weren't even supposed to drink water, but I did anyway because it was the middle of July and I was dehydrated beyond belief.

With the dependancy on technology nowadays, I wonder how you can even go 40h without. A school bus is technology. Intercoms are technology. Internet, PCs, video games, phones, etc. aside, there really isn't much you can do that isn't technology-related. Elevators, escalators, driving, using lights in the house, using the stove, using a fridge... All technology, technically

    Good luck!

We did it in school with food, although only for 30 hours. It was really fun, though.

    40 Hour Famine

Technology is sort of a wimpy one tbh, oh noes I'm raising awareness of how hard it is to live without an iPhone... It'd be funny seeing you sitting on the floor in school. For me, 40 hours without clothes I think, doing it on a weekday and in Winter ;)
