1. They're okay except for the craptacular pixelated battle sprites, which look bad and are about the same quality as Super Mario Bros. for the NES (back in 1985!)

2. They're alright, though none of them have proven themselves worthy to replace my default (also Lisa's) team.

3. Depends on several factors, including what the female player character looks like and whether or not a certain rodent-obsessed homicidal psychopath who speaks through a machine rears his ugly head again after another prison escape... if ya know what I mean I'm not buying any Hoenn-remake games though... wayyyyy too much water - it's almost like Archie's succeeded before the game even starts...

4. Persian, because of its elegant looks and the fact that I can use its Pay Day to make me filthy rich

5. Remove the aforementioned rodent-obsessed homicidal psychopath who speaks through a machine from the world tournament in the new games, and give the female playable trainer in that game a proper skirt/dress instead of those weird shorts. I'd keep the black tights though... those look stylish

6. Potatoes. But only in french fry form xD

and either Probopass or Vespiquen, I'm still trying to decide between the two.

Two reasons: 1) I don't really like the other two starters, and 2) I always like to have a good Water-type early on. Plus in his final form he can Megahorn any Grass types who dare stand in his way.

Eh, they aren't that bad, it's just that some of their rules (and how they live in general) are just weird... like going to bed ridiculously early, waking up ridiculously early, and choosing to live in the middle of nowhere, where creepy stuff does indeed happen from time to time.
