I Got Me a Job

Posted July 2nd, 2009 at 03:58 PM by R a c h e l (The Ramblings of a 19 Year Old Londoner)

J Sainsburys PLC had the courtesy to accept my application to be a General Assistant, and now I've got a uniform and a spiffy name badge and everything. The job's a bit of a chore - stocking shelves in the fresh food section of the store for 12 hours a week - but the people I've met are very welcoming.

I had my induction a couple of weeks back, and met ten other people who were starting different jobs at the same time as me. I've seen a few of them since, which is nice, as I got to...

Michael Jackson

I'm devastated that he's gone. There are so few artists today that weren't influenced by him in some way, and he's more than revolutionized music. Heal the World is so beautful, and Beat it is so damn funky. Thriller is still one of the best music videos to date, and the moonwalk (even though I'm aware that it was actually Bill Bailey or Marcel Marceau that invented it) came to fame because of him.

What's nice, in a way, about when musicians and actors die, is that their spirit can...

Blood Tests

So, I have very low blood pressure and a variety of other ailments that I can't be bothered to go into detail about. Half the doctors I've seen just tell me I'll grow out of it, but that's not useful to me now when I faint at least once a week and have to steady myself whilst I wait for my vision to clear every single time I stand up. I've had countless bloodtests, and the last one I had showed high calcium levels. The calcium levels couldn't affect my blood pressure, but they have various other...

So, I started up a graphics thread yesterday, and luckily people seem to like what I do Currently I've been getting requests at a good pace, so hopefully either: a) It'll stay like this, b) Someone will join my graphics team, or c) People will be patient in receiving their graphics. How long do normal graphics artists take to deliver their work? I always aim to have it done either on the day or early the next day, but that's probably a little ambitious. Ah, I'm new to this, what the hell

About a Girl

I am Rachel, and I have been Rachel since the 23rd of September 1992. (As in, that's when I was born. I didn't just change my name.)

That would make me 16 .

But I can guarantee you that I don't really live up to the general stereotype of people my age .

I'd happily spend hours upon hours doing things that people half my age enjoy - playing with boomerangs, playing computer games, skipping out on the grass, having piggy back races, playing the guns and symbols...
