As most of you know, or if you've been paying attention to the weather reports, Hurricane Irene made landfall in North Carolina, and made her way up the East Coast, downing trees and power lines, submerging vehicles and causing many a creek and rivers to overflow their banks.

Yup. That's right. Kiro's doing an appreciation blog. Unfortunately, some people are not going to see this, on account of leaving for one reason or another. But they will still get mention.
