Homosexuality - it's okay, when it's on TV!

The Homosexuality thread reminded me of this, but I don't find it thread worthy, and I don't want it to turn into some mindless flame war thread, so I'm posting it here where it'll get less notice. XD

Basically, what got me thinking about this were some comments that I've read over time on television shows that I've watched online.

Plenty of series these days have characters that are bisexual, gay, lesbian, suffer from gender issues, etc. More often than not, one of...

People don't read and they don't think. (They also don't listen.)

When I get frustrated there are two sides of me that can show up: the helpless doormat who can't handle the pressure and the judgmental ass. When I'm at work I get frustrated quite easily.

So you'd think that working at a school like I do would mean I encounter a lot of people who are smart, eager to learn, and generally have their stuff together. It doesn't. People who go to school are crazy. Today has been one crazy person after another. Before I even started work today I saw a man...

The New Battle in the Old War on Women

Posted June 9th, 2011 at 10:36 AM by Esper (The Uncarved Blog)

Mississippi has one as a ballot initiative currently tied up in court and its supporters are traveling...

Music Video Rant.

Posted May 22nd, 2011 at 01:32 AM by moments. (moments like these)

This is, for the moment, my favourite music video, and off the top of my head, not many match it how I am viewing it. Nowadays, to have a successful music video, simply put half naked, "beautiful" people in it and have them oiled up, mud wrestling or dry humping anything and everything in the frame. This music video is what I want to see more of. A clip with a narrative, a deep and interpretative meaning behind it, some creativity, amazing cinematography and...

Rights and Externalities, or tl;dr

This wall of text was inspired by an article I read about a couple who wanted to act as foster parents, but were denied because of their views on homosexuality. The article seemed to be more sympathetic to the couple, which got me all rant-y.

As libertarians like to say: your right to swing your fist ends where my nose begins, or however it goes. It’s a pretty simple idea and it makes sense. I rather like how simple it is, how it’s so ideal and, on the outside,...
