I can't tell you how excited about PAX Australia I am. It's going to be the first time PAX will be overseas, and they decided to go with Australia. I honestly didn't expect it at all. I would've thought they would have went with the UK. xD;
What I'm most excited about is seeing some indie games get some attention. I absolutely love indie games, and believe it or not, a lot of people in Australia do as well. (Ooh. I know, right?)
Apart from the clear AAA titles such as Bioshock 2, Australia has never really been known for video games. Even less so for indie games, and their developers. The idea that these people will finally get their chance to shine, and show off their proud work is really awesome. It must be almost like a dream for them. I'm happy for those developers, and I can't wait to see what they've got.
I've also only ever been to Manifest, which is an anime convention, rather than Supanova or Armageddon, which are pop culture conventions. So going to PAX will sorta be a first for me. Sorta. That's pretty cool.
Oh, yeah! PAX will be after E3. Because of this, I hope there will be a few playable demos from the bigger companies, if possible. Any new trailers that are showcased in PAX Australia would also be pretty damn awesome. I highly doubt that, though.
The downside to this is that my friends never got a chance to buy their ticket to PAX. All the tickets aside from the Friday tickets were all sold out just recently, which is a definite bummer. But yeah, I'm curious! Is anybody going to PAX Australia? If so, what are you looking forward to the most?
Also, is anybody going on Sunday? I'd love to meet some new peeps. : D
