Did you know that there's a tattoo bar across the street from me? Of course not, lol. I never told anyone. It opened up recently and just...sits there, being the tattoo bar it is. I'm legally allowed to get a tattoo now. I'm eighteen, but would I ever get one? No, no, no, oh my god, no. Why? Well... I'm afraid of the person being unprofessional and putting the tattoo the wrong way, I'm afraid of the actual pain it'd involve getting a tattoo, and I've heard nasty rumors about tattoos that they affect your body. I also don't like the idea of them using needles to make the tattoo or whatever method they use. I just don't want the pain of getting one. I'll just be that kid who always get temporary tattoos that wash off the skin. Permanent tattoos? ...What if I don't want it after awhile? That's a thought. The only way to get a permanent tattoo off is by surgery or something. I know I'd be a fickle person. I guess I'm also not quite mature enough for one, either.

Same with ear and body piercings. I don't like the sound of a "gun" (is that what they even still call it) being
use to pierce a ring into my ear/navel/nose/tongue/wherever, so when I was young, I told my mom I don't want my ears pierced. It sounded scary. It still sounds frightening. I'm never getting my ears pierced. Dear god, no, let alone any other body part. DEAR GOD NO... JUST NO. That stuff really scares me, and I don't think I could handle the pain and flinch, and they'd put it in wrong or something. :| I know me.

But I won't deny that it sounds interesting to have body art (tattoos) on my body. Okay, so if I DID get a tattoo, what kind of tattoo would I get, and where would I get it?

*On my back or left arm.
*Angel wings if my back, maybe butterfly wings if angel wings aren't possible.
*If it were my left arm? Words, probably. Like, um, "Sovereign".
*What colors would be?
*(Maybe the wings would be white like real angel wings? The words if I got that would be black.)

I don't even want to think about what kind of earrings I'd wear because dear god, no, just no, oh my god no...

Anyway, if any of you have gotten a tattoo and feel offended by this, I'm sorry. And if anyone here wear earrings/any kind of piercing I'm sorry, too. I should take people's feelings into account. I'm sorry.

Please try not to believe all the misinformation about tattooing! It's actually a beautiful art, and so long as you do the research to find a clean, reputable, and safe shop; it would really be a great experience! Especially considering how creative you are and the amount of truly talented artists out there.

It's true that the tattoo industry tends to garner more than its share of.. less than respectable people with very little in the way of cleanliness or talent compared to modern businesses. But, in reality, that makes up such a small percentage of professional tattoo shops. What you're thinking of is that dirty, loud, downtown boardwalk shop where drunk girls under the legal age get tramp stamps in a herpes infested cesspool of hormones and booze. Which, hey, may be what the shop near you is like. However, even "those" shops have to adhere to certain laws and regulations to keep you safe from infections and other bloodborne diseases. As long as you know the signs, it's super easy to stay perfectly safe!

Do the research, look at the portfolios, visit these places. I spent quite some time learning the art of tattooing and I can promise it's not what you think. And in the end if you just don't like needles or think it's too taboo; hey, that's your educated decision and more power to you! Just weed through the misinformation before making that choice.
