Hey guys! Due to the career path I want to take, I've been advised that I should start volunteering to teach people. After a lengthy discussion with my careers advisor about biscuits and music, we came to the conclusion that the best route to take would be teaching people how to play guitar since it's a strong passion of mine, it's fun, and it's relatively easy to do. I've already been teaching a few people I know offline how to play basic songs and chords, so I figured why not bring it here too? Now this brings me to the point of the blog - without further adieu...
Basically, you guys suggest a song and I'll try my best to teach you how to play it by recording it and showing you what you're actually playing. The songs will be easy and for beginner level guitarists, since that's who I'm supposed to be focussing on, so hopefully they'll be okay for even the most inexperienced players. Then once each tutorial is done, you guys can post recordings of yourselves playing the song and it'll all be one big happy explosion of joy, yay! However before I can start, I need songs to play! This is where you guys come in:
What songs would you like to learn for guitar? Remember to keep them easy at first so that everyone can play them and then we can get some harder ones in the future. :D I'll aim for the videos to be weekly but what with a constant stream of work at uni it's debatable as to whether or not I'll be able to stick to that, but hopefully it'll be okay! I'll suggest a few of songs which are standard for beginners below which you can choose from, or feel free to suggest your own. c:
I'd say the best to start off with is probably Use Somebody by Kings of Leon since it uses common chords which are pretty easy to learn and has a pretty easy solo, but it's up to you guys really! Just post saying what songs you'd like to learn and if they're suitable, we'll try learning them :D
Also as a side note, I really need a better name for the videos - any suggestions? xD
