It's been a while since I've blogged about my Heart Gold adventure so I guess it's time for an update. If we recap on the last post, I battled the skillful Ghost type Gym Leader - Morty. He was very smart, using the ghost type advantageously. However, we weren't going to lose easily and with some lucky outcomes and loads of hard work from my team, I came out victorious.
Since then, I've advanced a lot in the game. In fact, I've completed about 80% of it. I got all eight gym badges of Johto, challenged the elite four and came out victorious. Yes! I am new champion of Johto! Afterwards, I ventured to Kanto to train more and challenge the gym leaders there. I heard they were really tough and they certainly lived up to the rumours. But, experience and battle strategies aided my team and I managed earned all eight badges of Kanto too! I also got the final member of my team, the big guy, Snorlax!
After a little training in Mt. Silver, I decided that my team's levels still aren't sufficient enough to challenge Red. That's okay, it's all part of the joys of training your Pokemon.
To hone my battling skills a little more, I thought that I should get a little practice in the Battle Frontier to learn new strategies and battle tougher opponents. I decided to go for the Battle Tower first and, in my first go, I got a seven win streak. Then, I went to the Battle Factory which I also got a full seven win streak. With 8BP in hand and a grin on my face, I realise that the Battle Frontier is huge fun. To improve my experience, I've decided to raise a separate team just for the Battle Frontier. However, finding three Pokemon that work well together and cover most weaknesses is proving hard to come up with. I don't give up easily though and I'm sure I can come up with a team (if you have a good idea, feel free to PM me with suggestions!)
So, yeah, that's about it! Pokemon Heart Gold is proving to be a hugely fun Pokemon game. I might just pick up a copy of Soul Silver, too.
