The Burnt Tower's Poisonous Secret

So, I taught Mika, aka Whitney, a lesson in Beachynomics, shredding her apart thanks to flash and critical-hit-happy (focus energy <3) Scyther. (Bugsy's Scyther was annoying, so much so that it's now my lead, same set and all) >:D

Later on I walk into the brass tower expecting to release you-know-who. After thrashing James (Dark Azelf, my rival) with Murkrow Pursuit and Scyther U-turn spam, I start walking around to find those hidden items with that dowsing machine. As I'm happily searching, a battle begins...

Mind you, I'm driving to Barnes and Noble during all of this, in traffic & rain. (don't follow my example, drivers-in-training!) As I look down quickly, I see SHINY KOFFING. wkedjherghtiesrjnr...AWWWWWWWW YEAH!

Scared to screw this up, I make haste and swirl into the parking lot, and put my full attention on Koffing. A Scyther quick attack and some weak Stantler Astonishes (see, that move DOES have a use!), paired with its hypnosis, I catch shiny Koffing with a great ball. :D Third time I've seen a shiny, and caught it. First being Zubat during my ever-long search for gible in the wrong cave, second being an Illumise during Charizard level boosting. (both happened in Diamond) Amazing how shinies show up during the most unexpected times... I got a thing for in-the-air bug or poison shinies. :D

I'm now in Olivine City (which is so gorgeous) after Murkrow and Gyarados thrashed Morty & company, hysterically so. Brilliant gym design, by the way.

I have yet to catch a shiny in HG/SS other than the Gyarados (and the Noctowl I have in imported SS doesn't count 'cause it was traded).

I remember my first random encounter shiny. Twas a Zubat whom I named Sapphire after a Crobat I had years ago.

I restarted my game and lost it though. :[

Ah, so your first was Zubat too, Swift? Yeah, I remember seeing green zubat after hours of frustration, looking for Gible. I was like "well... that works! :D" Traded it away later on, though. :( Same fate with Illumise, too. I'll be keeping Koffing, though.

It was a shiny Buizel in Diamond and since that was my first Pokemon game I ever played, I didn't really use correct capturing skills and it fainted XD
Not the best shiny in my opinion, but it would have been better than nothing :P

I was looking for a Snorunt in Shoal Cave, the first thing that popped out was a green Zubat. I was like, OMGWTFBBQ. Caught it in an Ultra Ball.

Believe me, you're not the only one.

I'm pretty sure I came across a shiny Zubat in Slowpoke Well in my Gold years ago, but as soon as I found it I had a sudden short-term memory loss and forgot if it DID sparkle or not. Plus I forgot what color normal Zubat were. So I RAN AWAY FROM IT just so I could check. Afterwards, I began running all around, trying to find it again. No. Such. Luck. It's almost as bad as my catching a weak Ponyta in my Yellow with a Master Ball and, in that same file, running away from Mewtwo and save afterwards.

Ah the mistakes we make.
