New features comng ta yo local Pokémon community :]

Posted August 23rd, 2010 at 03:08 AM by Ausaudriel

Okay! So life has been relatively less crazy lately and I've had some time ta sit down and work on some PC features that've been n tha works fo a long time, and I thought I'd shis some of tha stuff that's comng ta PokéCommunity over tha next few months.

First up:

ROM Sphealng Boards

Tha ROM Sphealng boards is gong ta undergo some changes soon, which nclude an all-new way ta showcase yo threads. Nstead of just a regular post where you have ta style yo thread by hand and tell everyone bout yo spheal n a disorganized fashion, showcase threads will have a layout ta tham ta keep thngs funky ass and tidy.

As you create yo thread, you'll see a bunch of new options on tha new post screen:

You fill n all of tha nfomation, ncludng tha title of yo spheal, who's responsible (yo tebe), what it's a spheal of, logo, etc. Along wit all of dis is yo standard post box that you detail all of yo spheal nfomation n.

Threads than have a Spheal Nfomation box associated wit tham, which tell everyone tha basic details of yo thread and give tham download options, etc.

Along wit dis new layout system will be some changes ta how yo files is dawgaged. Nstead of lnkng ta offsite locations fo yo spheal, you'll be allowed ta upload it directly ta PC. Dis'll allow us ta track download numbers and trends and display tham autamatically on yo thread, and eventually a version control system will be implemented ta keep track of updates.

Screenshots will no longer be just images thrown nta yo post, but nstead will be uploaded ta PC and sorted nta yo thread autamatically (as you can see n tha exbeple screenshot above.)

Eventually we'll be able ta do really cool thngs wit dis, such as a better spheal searchng and sortng system, allowng everyone ta fnd spheals thay wanna play more easily and git more exposure fo sphealers out thare who want thair gbees recognized. :]

All of dis is subject ta change, as it's all currently n an alpha-phase wit just a few of us testng it. Feel free ta leave yo feedback n dis blog entry! We wanna know what you thnk would improve tha system, make it easier ta use, etc.

Next up: WiFi Tradng Post refomation.

I don't visit ROM hacking all that frequently but I do like this feature a lot seeing as in I do enjoy perusing the threads and seeing the hacking around the community. I can see it's an ambitious attempt, maybe not difficult for you to do Audy but it still looks like it'll be worthwhile once it's all 100% functioning. I think the ROM hacking community has grown too large not to have a more organized system.
