Haven't written in here for a while...
So... Our story begins with me starting my just past afternoon shift at a music/movie/video game store.
Now not to long after getting on the floor, I was asked by our manager to stand guard at the security guard's office. Perplexed, I went there, and there was our security guard/secret shopper, filling out information. They wanted me to stand guard, because I looked a little bit more burly than perhaps some others. XD Not to mention I know some martial arts, and how to throw an effective punch. Needless to say, I stood at the door for about 10 minutes...
They were caught attempting to steal a pair of $15 earbuds and 2 CDs... yep... The kids looked to be no more than 17, however their growth appeared stunted (over abundance of drugs?) so they appeared to be the age of 14. They also had cigarettes in their bags too.
Oh yeah... I forgot to mention, one was carrying a "family heirloom" a switch blade... The other had a steak knife... I don't know how or why they didn't attempt on pulling those on the security guards in the initial chase (which I missed). Needless to say, they pretty much were quite while I was there. We were also waiting for the city police to arrive and take them away. That's why I was there for 10 minutes.
Now they did have some small conversations... (juve and bootcamp being one of them) The were taking this pretty casually (had they stolen before, who knows, I wouldn't have been surprised if they had). At one point the security guard had one of them phone his parent to tell him what had happened and where he was going.
To summarize what he had said, in a casual voice (again) he spoke to his father, telling him he had been caught stealing and was going to go with the police. He even said he wouldn't call his mom, because she would not like to hear what had been done, plus she was in Mexico with family. Then some more casual talk ensued... that is to say, though I heard a one sided conversation, I could have sworn to hell that perhaps of the dad's questions was along the lines of "Did you get those earbuds?" I don't think he would have meant it in a "Did you steal them?" way, but the kid replied, " No, I got caught stealing them."
I'm thinking the dad has been in and out of jail too...
Then no sooner, the cops came and took them away in handcuffs, everyone starring as they walked on.
Thus the day goes by, I wasn't there when it occurred, but what happened was some 9 year old kid came to the till with the movie "Gamer" (rated 18) and my fellow employee (in what was probably a professional tone, I mean there is no need to sound rude, condescending or anything like that) told him he needed a parent to pay for it. To which the boy proceeded to cry (now I'm not sure what kind of crying, or exactly why), but when the kid informed his dad he could not buy it, the dad went absolutely ballistic, yelling and such. And getting angry on having made the boy cry... Needless to say they left the store without the DVD...
The last story was about 2 drunk guys that went to go listen to music. They seemed pretty orderly (I watched them from a distance), but were loud at times, and I was told that stank like hell... Not surprising though... Needless to say, either our store called mall security or they came of their own accord, but by name the security staff told them to leave. Most likely banned from the mall... Loud noises ensued, and the guy was removed from the store amid more starring...
