...At work, crazy customers are one thing, but, I swear, I work with the most unproffesional employees ever. I may sound egotistical when I say this, but, honestly? That's my impression of them.

See, this happened last week: I was on retail, and one of my co-workers was working at the return aisle today, which I was at retail near the return aisle, so...I can pretty much hear what goes on in there.

Anyway, a lady comes over to the return aisle, and asks for a return for a camera. So, my co-worker asks: "What's wrong with it?" And the lady replies: "Well, the flash isn't working." My co-worker replies: "Well, are you sure you know how to operate a camera?" The lady got a little annyoed by the question...I assume, so she replies: "Excuse me, I know how to operate a camera, thank you very much. This camera's flash isn't working."

...I dunno what my co-worker was thinking, because he says: "...Miss, don't get snippy with me." Which, I didn't understand at the time. Exactly who was the snippy one? So the lady replies: "Excuse me, how am I being snippy? I am trying to return a unfunctionable camera. For the record, you have no right to assume that I do not know how to operate a camera. You and your crew are responsible for ensuring that the equipment works properly, and not talk back to the customer. Do your job."

Co-worker replies: "Well, at least I have a job." At that point, I thought: "...Whoa, where did that come from?" Maybe my co-worker was having an off day or maybe just got a little stressed from the customer or something, but still...that wasn't nessesary if you ask me.

So, I think you can assume that the lady was of course mad, and says: "...You know what, I'm not going to stand for that. You can go **** yourself." So the lady powerwalks away, with my co-worker yelling to her: "Will do! Have a nice day!"

...Really.

[maybe I'm just going way into this? IDK. I'd be mad too.]

...and then you have people like me on the opposite end of the spectrum. Whenever someone returns a television or a lawnmower or a microwave or anything at my workplace, I just put it under "return to vender" status no matter what's wrong with it, if anything.

Even though I'm supposed to perform small repairs myself, I'm just too lazy. XD

If I was that lady I would have said "You had a job, let me speak to your manager". Your co-worker should have said mam let me take a look at that for you, and see what I can do to help. And if he can't help then get somebody that could. And your works unprofessionalism isn't as bad compared to my last job. First our employer hired a bunch of druggies that hardly did anything worth while, and smoked more cigs then they did their job. I mean trying to give a burnt pizza to a customer seriously. It doesn't matter if your co-worker had a bad day, he should never be confrontational toward the customers.
