Wow, our new principal is a jerk...

Okay, so Wednesday was the first day of school, where the sophomores, juniors, and seniors (2K10 baby!) have class meetings. When we get to ours, it's only natural that we will talk during it, as it is the first day, and quite frankly we don't want to really listen about the same things we have heard the past two years, and we want to catch up with each other still. So our new principal comes out, and tells us to quiet down. We do at first, but the slows comes to an end with kids talking. Now, of course it's rude, but what bothered me about this? He COMPLETELY stopped his speech, pointed out individuals to our entire class (Which is like 650 kids lol), and completely embarrassed them.

Seriously? Is that REALLY necessary? Telling the grade collectively to quiet down, sure. But embarrassing someone on the first day for a little talking, which he should totally expect anyways? Wow...

Okay, now there's an argument here against me: "Well, you should be showing him respect anyways." Guess what? If he CLEARLY isn't going to show us any, why the heck should we reciprocate? Honestly, not the best start to a year Mr. Principal.

I just noticed every time I blog I'm usually ranting about something lol.

Blogs tend to make people rant a bit.
If you were only talking a little lower then a small conversation level I would be upset if he picked people out for any noise. It's just impossible to get a bunch of kids to be TOTALLY silent.
(Hell, we weren't even all quiet during the moment of silence today. I would expect we would...)
Though, there are people who think normal conversation voice as in, not when you are RIGHT next to a person voices are totally okay to do while they should be at least giving half their attention to a speech. There might be something new to the rules, especially when you have a new principle.

Yeah, they were talking rather quitely (Which shocks me, since our grade is usually mad loud lol).

@Shalon: We're mostly 17 and 18, we know he's in charge. But showing disrespect to us isn't the best way to gain respect in a new school =P
