Update on my Dad

It's been a while since I commented about the condition of my Dad. So, here's the current news.

He does have leukemia. That's the main reason for the low white blood cell count and all the easy bruising he's got. However, the leukemia is in its beginning stages. On Wednesday, the doctor treating him told my Mom the current news at that time and she assumed the worst, telling me that he would die any minute when I asked about his condition. Usually, that's my job to assume the worst.

However, I went to see him the next day and I learned that they are going to start chemo on him. They moved him to an upper floor where they make much more experience with using chemo. The hospital he's in right now has a good overall survival rate, so we're all taking this one day at a time, not getting too optimistic since there are risks to using chemo, especially with him.

So, that's all for now.

The only thing we can do now is leave it to the chemo and the doctors. If my neighbor said that the hospital has good staff, then I'll leave it to them.

Well, I called him today and he's doing okay. He'll be doing chemo for a week. They'll check him out in a couple of days to see if it has done anything.
