This blog delay was partly brought to you by a trip to Japan! Also uni, and laziness.

Another Pink Floyd song features this time around, in part because it'd be a shame to not do at least one of their songs during a guitar solo theme. =p There's also some timing behind this one, as this March marks the 40th anniversary of the famous Dark Side of the Moon album. Speaking of which, if you never actually listened through it then now is as good a time as any to do so.

The song itself... well, let's go with Money for it makes the world go around, or so they say.

Lyrics:
Spoiler:

After the second verse, you get a chill sax solo which then leads into a very nice piece of guitar (about 3:05). It has two 'parts' to it given the little break in the middle of it.

The song meaning is simple enough. Guy likes money and gets a bit carried away (granted the dialogue at the end might not be that easy to understand). The song is also fairly unique given the way it starts. You can tell what song is playing straightaway after all; it's hard to mistake the sound of cash registers (also coins, a clicking machine and tearing paper, apparently). It also has an unusual time signature (starts in 7/4 and then changes for the solo) which you rarely see in music. Kinda typical of Pink Floyd's rather experimental flair though I suppose!

The ending is a bit odd, but then it's because it's leading into the following song in the album, something that Pink Floyd also does a lot. A lot of their albums in fact had a general theme and would have songs tie with one another, so that's more reason to check out Dark Side of the Moon I feel. :V

I was expecting Kesha, Iunno, I am warped.

Very good song though! My childhood. Or rather, my mom turning up the stereo very loudly and making the walls shake. But still good music!

I enjoy that song and the guitar solos a lot (recognized it having heard it on radio several times). I don't remember the dialogue at the end, ah well. XD

Well... I don't anticipate featuring any Kesha in the near future, I'll say that much. I suppose the title of $$$ is why; was kinda a lazy effort there. Ah well.

I imagine the dialogue was maybe not on radio versions? It could have been cut for a radio version given the song is meant to lead into another, while by itself it maybe doesn't work quite as well. But then if it's not that easy to hear it's probably also not too easy to remember... especially compared to the other features of the song.
