On the job hunt!

I want to end 2009 on a good note. After being laid off from my job earlier in the year, my original plan was to take some time off and relax while collecting my unemployment benefits and look for a new job after Anime Boston 2009.

And then my Dad got leukemia. So, that plan was scrapped as I had to look after him after he came back home, to make sure he's okay until he can get back to normal. Now that he's okay and the leukemia's no where in sight, I'm now resuming my plan to go look for a job.

I do have one trick up my sleeve: the Internet! The state's unemployment office website has this big job listing database where all available jobs in the state are posted. So, I just type in a few things and I see what jobs in my town that are available for the picking. I have already filled out 2 applications online and I'm filling out my 3rd as of right now.

With my Dad out as a ride, I'm limited to public transit, but there's an stop near my house via request, meaning I call them and request that the bus swing by that stop near my house. So, with me stuck using public transit, I'm heavily searching for jobs in my town only.

With that, I'll see if that job listing site has any new jobs in my town that I can go after.
