My performing arts teacher gave our class (of 6 people) an assignment. And it was basically to think of a performance, that included singing, dancing and acting. We all sat there for like 10 minutes thinking until I said the most stupidest thing in the world.

"Cell Block Tango"

HOW COULD THIS GO WRONG. IT'S ONE OF MY FAVORITE SONGS I THOUGHT TO MYSELF. NU-UH

Everyone loved the idea etc. So we told our teacher and she was like okay cool, you guys go work on it. A few hours later she came and dropped a nice bomb on us. That the second year class would be watching us perform it next Thursday.

If you don't know what the song is, go watch it on Youtube, take note that the dance we do is nothing like that one but it's pretty similar. Just less men, red material and dance partners.

If you know CBT you'll know that there's 6 words that basically set the whole song off and they are 'Pop, Six, Squish, Uh-uh, Cicero and Lipschitz'. I chose first and went for Squish because the verse for that was shorter than the rest.

So today we had finally got the choreography dealt with, we just needed to practice the singing with the instrumental.

worst. voices. ever.

Since there's only 6 of us we don't sound anything like the original, and no one has aggression in their voice. So it sounds really quite and awkward. 2 of the girls have their 'talking' parts nailed down. another has their part kinda done, and the other 2 don't even get me started. Then there's me. I can do it, I know the lines off by heart. However when it came to saying them during rehearsal I couldn't. I couldn't get them out, it was so embarrassing especially with my performing arts teacher watching it.

TL;DR NEXT THURSDAY IS GOING TO BE ONE GIANT HEAP OF AWKWARDNESS OK

Also i fell off the seat when i was on the bus. :(

Just imagine the audience naked. Never done it myself, but it sounds like sound advice. No?

Haha, seriously, coming from an actor (of sorts), I'd recommend first isolating yourself and making sure you know the lines. Then, Practice with the group and then with a friend. When the actual time comes, focus on yourself. Not necessarily what you have to say. But your actual self. Imagine yourself to be the best person in the room, that this is no big deal. It is hard, and it does require practice. But trust yourself. Even if you do sound bad, or if you make a mistake, just plow through. Keep your cool by looking at someone you know well, or even someone you like (it actually works, sometimes). You'll be surprised how well you can do.
