Snake in the grass...

Posted August 19th, 2013 at 09:03 PM by Dakota

Well, I made it to Toronto in one piece. Barely. D;

My family crashed in a hotel by Niagra Falls, and I'm staying up trying to make the most of the 22% battery my laptop has (can't find the charger welp). I figured I might as well say how my trip went so far.

The reason I just arrived is because my family took a detour to Corning and Ithica, New York. We visited this crazy glass museum in Corning, where they showed us how glass was made and all the great things that glass can do. The best part of that, though, was that I think I might have stole a $50 dollar vase by accident. ;; Gah.

Ithica was fun also, thanks to the fact some dick park ranger lady almost fined me for "trespassing". Even though the only thing I did was veer off the camp trail. Wut. Oh, and I apparently almost stepped on a snake. Hmm.

That being said, I've had a lot of fun so far. =D Now if only I could find my charger....

    I've got a bunch of friends in Ithica and I've been to the glass museum you were at. Niagara Falls can be pretty fun, just don't buy any painkillers while you're up there!

    Yeah, my geography was off yesterday. ><

    I was at Niagara Falls City yesterday, it's just that I grew up calling it Toronto instead (which I know is actually 100km away). Apparently my childhood's more stubborn than I thought. =P I'm actually in Toronto now though. =D

    And are Canadian painkillers bad or something? xP

    Nah, they'll just get confiscated and get you detained at the border. Seriously.

    It's a USA thing. It's assumed in America (and true, I guesss) that prescription drugs are far cheaper in Canada than in America to the point where there have been numerous incidents of people being caught trying to smuggle carloads of prescription drugs into the country.

    Really?
    They're cheaper in the UK IMO.. flat rate of under 9 pounds for any prescription. 50+ dollars for the same thing in Canada. I can't imagine US being any more expensive.

    Then again it's 400-600 pounds for 3 gardasil injections in the UK and only like $280 in Canada...

    How did they even get it prescribed to them though? They'd need to have a provincial healthcard to get one..

    Are you sure you don't mean off-the-counter stuff?

    Supposedly people were getting the pills from either Canadian residents or faked Canadian IDs. I'm fuzzy on the details since it's been a while since there's been a bust on this in my area, but there were at one point fully operational rings dedicated to smuggling this stuff into America.

    Both OTC and prescription drugs are supposedly cheaper in Canada.
