Hey guys, I hope you're all well! I have a small request, I would love it if any of you who have Facebook could take a quick moment just to like my Art/Design page. You don't even need to follow me strictly, but I would loooove it if I could get a few likes. You guys are a great community and it would mean a lot to me. Thank you to anyone who does, you're a star <3

You'd be better off taking your work somewhere other than facebook. They selectively hide your posts so that even if 15 people like your page only 5 will see them pop up in their newsfeed, thus you won't get the exposure you want.

5 extra people seeing my work every time I post it is worth the 5 minutes it takes to set up a page. I also have Behance, Twitter, my own website, Linkedin, and so on. So it does no harm! But I know, it's a bummer :/

They offer decent packages to promote your work however, which is where the real exposure comes in.

It's good you use a wide variety of platforms and no it's not much of a hassle to have a facebook page. But I'd strongly recommend against paying Facebook to advertise your page, if you can spare 9 minutes of your life I'd suggest watching this: http://youtu.be/oVfHeWTKjag

Even if you don't target click farm countries an influx of people liking but not interacting with your page is harmful to exposure. I have a shell account that I use for things that demand facebook login but if I actually liked your page it would hurt you more than help you as I have no interest in what you're offering. No offense, just not my cup of tea.

Sorry, I didn't see this post comment. I honestly don't see how more likes means harm. I don't imagine that 10's of thousands of likes translates directly to popularity. However once one person likes the page, more see that fact. If I reach one person out of tens of thousands that wishes to hire me, that can translate to hundreds, or thousands of euro. Given that each project I work on tend to be quite large. If I get one project from it, then it's a success in my eyes.

However the video is interesting, and certainly makes me think twice about paying for exposure. Also keep in mind that I already have a healthy income in my area as I've been doing this sort of work for 5 or 6 years.

Try not to assume I know nothing Jon Snow.

You really didn't play this right, you should have done this blog while you were still a smod so that more people would do it lol

Done though, by the way! Usually when somebody says "it'll only take a moment" I take it with a grain of salt but you truly are a man of your word!
