Fun fact: This episode was ALSO not shown in regular circulation - it was due to air soon after the 9/11 attacks and 4kids considered the scenes with Tentacruel destroying the buildings to be too insensitive. Even though Tentacruel is shown smashing into a building every week in the opening. Right....

Anyway, I guess it's an alright episode. It did have a lot of those weird moment which prompt me to scream in confusion, but they just kind of add to the fun. It was kind of weird to keep in the little continuity reference at the end, though - where Nastina goes flying off into the sky and lands on Brutella. Who nobody watching this episode will recognize. Or maybe they will, the air dates of these episodes are so crazy that it gets me a little confused.

But, onto the episode. The environmentalist message is kind of irritating to me, but that's mainly because it's the sort of thing we get way too much of these days. Seeing it when it originally aired, I doubt it annoyed anyone much. It still felt a bit more serious though - Tentacruel doesn't just leave Porta Vista never to return - he flat out says that if they get him angry again, he's going to wreck their town again, and do it properly. That's a pretty hefty threat, and we never DO see Porta Vista again. Maybe it got wiped off the map by a horde of angry jellyfish...

Anyway, enough speculation, here's the ELoT:

Spoiler:

Next Time: The Ghost of Maiden's Peak
