So my father bought my sister a Wii for her birthday a few weeks ago. Right now, we only have two games, Just Dance 4 which came with the Wii, and Resident Evil 4, which my sister literally begged me to buy for her (she's only 12, but she's seen me freak about the series, so yeah)

I beat the game a couple of days ago, but despite me being the video game nerd I am, I don't really know much about the Wii, in all honesty. So what games would you recommend I get? I'm down for anything, really, no preference. As long as it's good, I'll play. By the way, I already know I'm getting Super Smash Bros Brawl. Just saying.

EDIT: Wow, I derped the blog title. Random space ftw.

Skyward Sword and the Super Mario Galaxy games are absolutely phenomenal (but make sure you have MotionPlus or a Wii Remote Plus for SS). If you're into RPGs, Xenoblade Chronicles and The Last Story are must-plays too - Xenoblade might be a little hard to find, but check Gamestop since it was an exclusive there.

Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Skyward Sword and definitely the best Wii games. No More Heroes is another amazing game you'd probably like, I know I did. Good to know you're getting Brawl, maybe we should play sometime.

Get Brawl. I challenge you to a fight.

and get New Super Mario Bros Wii. If you're a classic Mario fan, you'll enjoy this game, because it's kind of a combination of Super Mario World and Super Mario 3. xD

Also, I got 5 stars on Good Feeling in Just Dance 4. xD That's like...the only song I'm pretty good at. The last time I rented the game, I was close to 5 stars on that Skrillex song. xD

New Super Mario Bros Wii is pretty good. If you're into violence, MadWorld is super violent (Although I don't think playing it around the little sister is advisable), and perhaps Skyward Sword. Don't forget you also have Virtual Console titles.

Eep, people already challenging me to Brawl. Certainly going to get that, I need to kick all of your asses <3

And Skyward Sword never crossed my mind. I've actually never played a Zelda game, ever, but if I remember right, that game got perfect scores all around. I think I might pick that up.

I might also get Super Mario Bros Wii or Super Mario Galaxy, probably the former. Loved the classics, so yerp.

And I might check MadWorld out, simply cause I'm a bloodfest freak. Hurdurrrrrr

As for Just Dance 4, I think I've gotten five stars in Good Feeling, Rock n' Roll (the Skrillex song), and.... What Makes You Beautiful. Don't judge me.

The Galaxy games are faaaaar superior to NSMB. They're a lot more creative and fun and they really push the envelope as far as Mario games go.

I second Mario Galaxy. While on that topic, get (depending on your preferences) Wario Land: Shake It! (if you like Wario Land, this is a good entry to the franchise. Also a good off beat platformer if not a bit on the easy side...unless you want to go for the challenges. Gorgeous as well), Donkey Kong Country Returns (imo the best DK game and the best 2D platformer in a long time.), Punch Out!! (great, and hard as hell. If you love boxing, like I do, this game is a must. If you like retro Nintendo and arcade games, this game is a must), Little King's Story (most charming game in the system. Also a great RTS that's a lot like Pikmin, but more strategic.), Zack and Wiki (AMAZING puzzles, great use of wii mote and is gorgeous and charming) and especially Rhythm Heaven Fever. (Made a whole post about this game. If you want, I'll link it) And if you want good use of the Wii mote, Warioware Smooth Moves is great.

Ultimately, though, I think both Galaxy games, DKCR and Rhythm Heaven Fever are the best of the system.

EDIT: NSMB Wii is decent at best unless you start going for the star coins which is where the level design truly shines. Though, DKCR got you more than covered for a 2D platformer, with its superior level design, challenge, variety, visuals and mechanics, and Mario Galaxy is vastly superior in every way. If you want to play NSMB Wii though, play them before those two games, as they make it seems so stale, ESPECIALLY visually.

EDIT2: Skyward Sword is great, but BEWARE OF ALL THE FETCH QUESTS AND BACKTRACKING. It's a great game and the controls are what the Zelda franchise needed, but the game has too much filler you start wondering about the game design. Also, too much handholding and the sidequests are pretty bad for the most part. I personally think it does not deserve the very high scores. However, if you have time, it's worth it, as the dungeons, combat and puzzles are sublime.

EDIT3: Also, have fun. The Wii is personally my favorite console. :)
