Posted March 2nd, 2014 at 6:24 AM by Zach (Snivy's Corner)

After I'm done with that, I leave it on the floor turned off, but still connected. Wanna know what's so special about this? Well, here goes nothing...

Whatever magic I did on the CSS for the OP of the Starter Pokémon Club broke compatibility for IE 7. The brokenness shows up in the IE 7 testbox that I have here - some bugs you cannot catch with Compat View!

On the other hand, though, if you're running IE 7, it means that you got rid of IE 6, and you should be safe to upgrade to IE 8 or 9, right? (9 for Vista users)

Or if you're tired of IE, you could always switch to Firefox, Opera, Chrome, Safari, anything, really....

The work PC is rather wonky

Posted January 11th, 2012 at 4:18 AM by Twiggy (Diaries of a Quadruped)

I guess the images say it all. Good thing it happened during lunch break, or, well, it'd be horrible. It took the system along with it, and I had to reset the whole PC. Besides, the scanner loves to jam when using the automatic document feeder. Guess this is what happens when the scanner is already end-of-life and the operating system pretty soon after...

Posted December 1st, 2011 at 6:36 AM by Twiggy (Diaries of a Quadruped)

The one thing I can say is... "Oh my. Oh my." Never before I have seen so much dust caked in - seems like blowing air on it just plain didn't work in the last few times.

So what's a plushie to do? Why, I decided to just physically remove the dust. With a toothpick. Same thing for the...

Let's see here...

  • The computer slows down when having more than 50% CPU load for more than half a minute
  • The computer randomly freezes while at stock settings for everything
  • I check temperatures and discover that the CPU is at 70 degrees C
  • I dust PC
  • Temperatures still high
  • I set fans to maximum speed, and temperatures are still high
  • I downclock the CPU to 60% of its original speed, and it still hovers around 60 degrees C at full load
Do you think I need to replace this CPU? I think it might be breaking...
