My In-Depth B2/W2 Review

Some notes before the review: Despite my comments in a previous entry (after my first W2 game's data got wiped out), I did eventually restart and play the game over again to completion. So this review is based on a complete play of the main game, most of the post game, and several of the major optional sidequests.

Okay, after completing Elesa's combo fashion show/Gym battle (and still wishing I had brought my best formal dress to the affair), I make a small detour to Route 16 (which is supposed to be the highway running between Savannah and Macon, so what's it doing here???) and a nearby forest to make my last team recruit... Shelly the Combee, who promptly evolves into Vespiquen. Now with party complete, I prepare to head out... oh crap, it's Rick and more of Team Weirdo... I mean Plasma. I have to laugh...

My White 2 Playthrough Part 4!

Finally leaving Castelia City after my Gym victory and going into... a desert wasteland. Lots of sand, and lots of weird half-completed buildings. What happened, budget shortfall or something? They claim they "discovered historic artifacts" but I'm not buying that - that is a very dumb reason to quit a construction project halfway through. As I said, my guess would be budget problems. As such, there's only really a few things of note here.

So, last time we left off, I was on my way to Virbank City's local movie studio. Here, I run into the captain dude from earlier. I get invited to watch his movie, and wow, were there problems. Not only did his character lose to the villainous Brycen-Man, but his character sounded wimpy and not very becoming of a superhero. With his confidence crushed, he returns to town. Well, with first badge in hand, I head outside the Gym, I'm ambushed. No, nobody wants to throw down, but I get a whole bunch of unwanted phone numbers for this newfangled phone gizmo that I didn't even know I had. I also get that dreaded, Satanic piece of equipment called the C-Gear. While I would've liked to tell Bianca to shine that C-Gear up real nice, turn it sideways, and then point out exactly where she could shove that thing, I couldn't get a word in edgewise. Damn her hyperactivity!...
