I hate flying

I’ve leaving for Japan tomorrow for a week in Kyoto and Osaka and the shopping is going to be fantastic. Oh yeah, and all that cultural stuff, too. I have saved almost every penny from my last 5 or 6 months of paychecks for this trip so I can buy anything I find that I want.

This is gonna be the best trip ever.

Don’t miss me too much. :D

P.S. dsfagagdaffs I hate flying and 13 hours of it is going to be hell. Dx

The thread I didn't make

Posted August 12th, 2011 at 01:02 PM by Esper (The Uncarved Blog)

So, after thinking about what could make OC a better/more active area I came up with this half-thought out idea for something new, buuutttt... I thought it was too silly and I was just not going to post it. However, I decided I'd post it here rather than delete it like I normally would because... why not? Maybe someone would find it interesting or useful somehow. And I haven't added anything to my blog for a while.

.

Tryin' to add something different...

Trolleys, maths, Ebonics, and more stuff about language

Posted July 25th, 2011 at 01:54 PM by Esper (The Uncarved Blog)

Before I start what will surely be a very long post, let me say that I love languages. I love learning them, reading about them, listening to them. My biggest regret in college was not going for a linguistics degree because I didn't realize I could until it was too late.

So I'm bringing up this topic because of two things. One was an article I saw on the BBC news website where Britons got to complain about their least favourite Americanisms and the other was something someone at work...

Muppets, Cars, and Torchwood

Posted July 10th, 2011 at 12:19 PM by Esper (The Uncarved Blog)

I went to the movies yesterday and saw another amazing trailer for the new Muppets movie which fills me with all kinds of sugary joy. But more importantly I saw Cars 2, which I somehow never got around to seeing.

Cars 2 was the best thing I've seen this summer. It is 10 times better than Cars was, and that was still a great movie despite being one of the weakest Pixar movies. I love this movie so much I'm gushing. I haven't gushed about a movie so much since Black Swan and before that...

I felt inspired to put these together. Anyone who wants to use them can go ahead. I think they're all small enough to be used by anyone, but maybe one or two have file sizes too big. Sorry 'bout that.
