Every single time…

A new generation gets announced. Not soon after (or immediately, as of Pokémon Direct) we get the first pictures of the new starter Pokémon. You might get some footage too.

And then you get the knee-jerk reactions.

"The starter designs are horrible"

Sometimes I have to wonder what spurs this reaction. We've gone through this four times already (five if some people didn't like the Johto starters).

Dear Nintendo,

Can you stop being so damn xenophobic? Can you also stop being inconsiderate of people travelling across the world with their game consoles? Travellers and their 3DS's aren't a niche market.

And can you stop making people wait for retail games to be available on the eShop? And why are people waiting so damn long for games like Animal Crossing to become available TWO WEEKS after showing off a really nice video of what's pretty clearly a finished game?...

THEN TODAY.

ANOTHER SPOILER APPEARS.

STOP ONE-LINING SPOILERS, REALLY. THEY ARE NOT MINOR POINTS AND SOME PEOPLE WANT TO BE SURPRISED AT THE DETAILS.

Not really too mad. I just wanted to make a point about how spoilers could totally spoil the element of surprise.

To be frank about things, there's probably still a buttload of surprises in Black 2 and White...

B2/W2: What good does isolating yourself do?

So I've been avoiding the news and buzz (the discussions in our B2/W2 forum are a little out of my taste at the moment), leaving poor Xander to do his job there without any guidance from me. But you know, it means I get to avoid the surprises anyone happens to spill. (I haven't been so desperately reading fan sites either - most of which so desperately pull spoilers to get more readership).
