Importing a DSi is a no-go. But if it's region-locked, I'll really be wrecked.

Yes, it's a no-go because it's prohibitively expensive. That, and voltage transformers don't come cheap either.

(Well actually, I can research the prices for voltage transformers around Australian stores, but the shipping for the DSi might still be prohibitive from Play-Asia.)

NINTENDO, HELL YEAH!

Posted October 2nd, 2008 at 1:14 AM by Hiroshi Sotomura (Sotomura Blog)

Wii lineup is very nice-looking. Especially 2009's. I've got comments on a few interesting games in the lineup in this post. The DS lineup is also interesting, though it seems Nintendo's putting a lot of focus on the Wii one. (I'll talk about my favourites in the DS lineup later.) Wii Music is… meh. Alright.
Animal Crossing looks pretty nice. :o
Suzumiya Haruhi licensed game is nice-looking too.

Now this I agree with. Enhanced menu with what seems to be an app framework, where you can download stuff, a music playing app, and a camera with photo editing…

DSiWare, so we can download small games onto our game.

An SD card slot for all the photos we take. And probably storing DSiWare too.

The now-old DS and DS Lite has obviously been deprecated. Time to upgrade

DS R button fragility

Posted September 26th, 2008 at 3:58 AM by Hiroshi Sotomura (Sotomura Blog)

Damn the fee you have to pay just to get a shoulder button working again. Damn it so.

It's $75 (USD) for a DS Lite button repair, just to crack it open and clean a spring inside because the button's become insensitive. It's a steep price, but at least you're given warranty post-repair in case something goes wrong again.

I just hope Nintendo provides such warranty here.

… though quite frankly, it simply isn't worth it given that not many games (besides
