Despite what I said in this thread, it turns out that I'm, like, soooooo totally in love with Zubat! Or, at least I used to be. Apparently.

Rummaging around my bedroom in a vague attempt to clean up the place, I stumbled upon my old Game Boy collection, and GBA SP. Among the rubble that includes Tazmanian Devil Munching Madness and what I can only assume is a ROM cartridge with such classic, original games as Maya &Friend and Mines Weeper (yes, you read that right), is my old Pokemon...

Binge, binge, binge!

A while back, a friend of mine told me that one of the best ways to learn Japanese was to watch a large amount of anime in a short amount of time. Linguists have said that the best way to immerse oneself in a language is to live in a country that speaks that language, so I guess this is just the next best thing re: Japanese. Obviously, you wouldn't learn the language wholeheartedly from this method; you could just use it to build a foundation and/or improve on it.

All of this is preamble...

Seriously! This weekend, I took a trip with my housemates to see a friend of ours who's still at university (hahahahaha), and it's amazing as to the staying power of snow when you leave large cities. It's that time of year again: Time to spam the PC blogosphere with news of a C&M Review Contest (Emblem if you win or just participate; Supporter Tier if you win yadda yadda yadda), and this one's all about looooooooooove so it's extra special. In most situations, I'd be pestering everyone I know to enter and doing long diatribes on blogs like this to get the word out and all that.

My month with Netflix

OK, so Netflix decided to finally get their act together and enter the UK for the first time. To help ingratiate themselves with UKers that don't have as much access to streaming video as USers, they've even gone about and started one of those 1-moth free-trial thingies, in the hopes that many people will sign up and forget to click the button that says 'Cancel subscription'. But they didn't count on me being a cheap sonofagun! It also doesn't help that their library is very piddly - to put it mildly...
