A Music Blog (#8: Gotta go fast)

So today I'll put up two youtube videos to two different songs because both of these are great songs from a great game.

The game? Sonic Adventure 2 (Battle). One of my favourite games ever (certainly miles Prower ahead of the likes of Shadow the Hedgehog or 2006, etc). Both of these are rock songs, but the game did have a lot of other genres in it too, such as jazz, techno and rap with lyrics so bad it made the songs strangely enjoyable and complete with Getting Crap Past the Radar....

A Music Blog (#7: Happy Birthday, Alice)

So I was already decided on what to do for the next one but then I realised today is Alice Cooper's birthday! More than reason enough to do a song by him.

I do this because I think he's a pretty cool guy; did some entertaining shows when he was in his prime, some good songs, and also has his own radio program (Nights with Alice Cooper), which luckily airs here in Australia land even though he records it in Arizona. Imo his show is one of if not the best segments on the radio here......

So this is a band I'll probably feature a few times. I'll blame my dad because he is a huge fan of them and so by proxy I am now too. =p

Everyone knows Led Zeppelin, right? Stairway to Heaven is NOT the song I'll do though as people already know that I imagine, and a few others like Mad Dog... so here's a favourite of mine that doesn't get airplay over here on the radio! (If this does play where you live on the radio then I am jealous). Note there's another reason I'm picking this...

This song is featured today because of Andy. (Or well, I mentioned the song, he demanded it be used for this blog, and I agreed). This is not a bad thing because this is a darn catchy song by a bunch of Mamas and Papas.

That's right, California Dreamin'. (ON SUCH A WINTER'S DAAAAAAAAAY!)

Also a live version which sounds remarkably similar. Worth watching for the dancers that appear halfway through! You will not regret it. =p
