2012 brings new things to discover as well as uncertainty about the future. It also brings more of that 2012 doomsday BS that has been running rampant the past few years, despite common sense and scientists actually proving that the predicted Mayan doomsday will not happen! But that still doesn't stop idiots like Discovery Channel, History Channel, Patrick Geryl and other morons from continuing to shove their doomsday shows and books down our throats!

Since the world will end in 356 days from now (we are in a leap year, so we have the 29th of February), I've decided to have my own fun with this "phenomenon". Don't worry, I'm not going to talk about how the earth will suddenly reverse its magnetic fields or anything like that. I lack the intelligence to make sense of that stuff.

The reason for this title if I'm not going to talk about 2012? A certain 80's song that critics think is probably the worst song in history.

Update on my Dad

Posted May 9th, 2009 at 08:36 PM by Mario The World Champion (The Final Countdown!)

It's been a while since I commented about the condition of my Dad. So, here's the current news.

He does have leukemia. That's the main reason for the low white blood cell count and all the easy bruising he's got. However, the leukemia is in its beginning stages. On Wednesday, the doctor treating him told my Mom the current news at that time and she assumed the worst, telling me that he would die any minute when I asked about his condition. Usually, that's my job to assume the...

My Dad's not in good shape...

Posted May 1st, 2009 at 09:49 PM by Mario The World Champion (The Final Countdown!)

My 2009 has gotten worse. I thought being laid off at my job was bad, but nothing compared to the news we got about my Dad this past week.

During a routine blood test, the doctors there discovered that he has leukemia. They did say that it's in the early stages, but they didn't elaborate on it more. So, they transferred him to another hospital in the area that can have the specialists who deal with that sort of stuff.

Being laid off is one thing, having your Dad...

Finally online with Vista!

Posted April 25th, 2009 at 08:52 PM by Mario The World Champion (The Final Countdown!)

If you see this, this means I am online. But not on my XP computer upstairs in my house. Nope.

I am currently online with my Vista computer. You remember it, don't you? The one I had so many issues with? The bad install? The new power unit, the better graphics card? Yes, this one.

Well, after over 6 months, I'm finally got this damn thing ONLINE!!! My room doesn't have a phone outlet. I get my phone cord from a really long one that is split upstairs and fed...

BBC America: Good TV

Posted April 22nd, 2009 at 09:34 PM by Mario The World Champion (The Final Countdown!)

I don't watch much TV these days. Most of the stuff they have on these days are reality show and they all suck. The only channels I have been watching are Speed TV, Food Network, Discovery Channel, TLC and Animal Planet.

However, there's one channel I've been watching a lot of these days. And it's all thanks to the Brits across the pond: BBC America.

BBC Worldwide's American branch hosts a lot of good programs. I remember watching this channel when they showed Monty...

All Hotels should have Rubber Ducks!!!

Posted April 2nd, 2009 at 09:28 AM by Mario The World Champion (The Final Countdown!)

With Anime Boston 2009 coming, I have to reserve a hotel room for me to crash in during the con. Sadly, the hotel that is the Official hotel of Anime Boston, is sold out! So, that pissed me off!! I should have made a reservation right then and there when I had the chance!

Well, I've been looking at the hotels around the convention center and one of them caught my eye. The Colonnade Hotel. The rooms there are a bit pricey at $239 a night, but I can get a 10% off discount if I...
