I have nothing against sprite-less Pokemon games, I actually think they are great. The only ones we've seen were for consoles. (Wii, N64, GC) and it's good to see it finally get to the handhelds. I'm pretty sure the mini two-frame menu icons will still be staying for X/Y, I don't see how they would manage a tiny 3D image of 6 Pokemon in the menu without it being crowded.

Oh but do I hope it gets a retro wave like you said. Imagine though. One day people will be like "WTH is spriting?" Then the next day it becomes the next twerking. maybe that was a bad example

Ohhh already, now I get ya.

Mmm, yeah. As I said, I think new sprite-less games may very well revitalize the community. It'll be hard to say though. Don't care too much about the interactions between Serebii and PC, honestly. If something can help rejuvenate PC's Pixel Art, great.

That makes sense, know I've seen that a few times. And yeah, it's a sad day coming. Hopefully it won't go the way of the dinosaur. Hell, people are still doing Gen I and II sprites. There'll most likely always be a few people derping around for fun. Who knows. It could become retro and get a second wave.

Yeah, I got you meant the lines as of your last post. I think some darker shading could help with that though, trick the eye and what not.

Yeah it was kinda far-fetched, but I know the reverse will happen, people'll be spriting 6th Gen Pokemon. That's why Serebii's section is planning that project as early as possible - Either whenever all Pokemon, with names, are leaked, like with B/W, or at release date. Whichever comes first. I would suggest the Pixel Art mods at PC to do the same, but I hate to start a forum war with people from PC saying Serebii copied them, and vice-versa.

    WSC: Weekly Spriting Contest
PC calls it WPC, which I'm assuming is Weekly Pixel Contest. Serebii's is restricted to Pokemon sprite contests where, I'm assuming, PC's is more generalized.

Ah yes, I know Spriter's Resource, of course. It's a shame that it was mostly Nintendo products nowadays that used sprites (correct if if I'm horribly wrong), and now, with the release of the 3DS, they may completely stop, not just for Pokemon. X/Y is where Pokemon Spriting ends, when was last time you've seen a pixelated Mario game? What about their other Franchises? Pokemon was, I'm pretty sure, the only one that stayed behind, until now.

I mean, it's great that they're moving on to 3D games, I'm just dreading the day when spriting, Pokemon spriting, to be more specific, becomes a dying art.

Oh and by the way, for my Mega Mewtwo sprite, I literally meant the shape of the lines on it's head-tail, not the colour XP

I really doubt that, cell-shaded models take a lot of work. And a *lot* more time. Some people may try, but very few will be successful. Also, what does WSC stand for? I haven't been on in months and months and before that it was literally years. Regardless, it sounds like a good model. Gen VI spriting should be really good for the community.

And there are still strictly spriting forums. The Spriter's Resource is pretty good.

I dunno. Somehow, Someway, Someday, people are going to find a way to make Fakemon Gen VI style. I don't know how, but I have a gut feeling that they're going to find a way and the Pixel Sections in all Pokemon forums will slowly wither and die...

It's too bad that the WSC here isn't very active. I didn't even know we had one TBH. The one on Serebii is the only thing holding the sprites section alive ATM. (I hate comparing Serebii to PC, though. It feels like taboo mentioning them on the opposite forum...) Me and two other people are thinking of new ideas for WSC so we can "Keep Spriting Alive". That's basically become the motto now, I think.

Another thing we plan on starting in the fall is a Gen 6 To Sprites Project. We're hoping that would attract more people to the sprite section. Serebii's entire Art section, besides the Art Shops, is dying. PC's on the other hand still has some hope. Maybe. Possibly?

See, that makes it the perfect opportunity, IMO. You'll never have to learn a new style again. You can start massive projects and know no one is going to ***** at you and say, "Dude, this isn't Gen XVII style! It's totally lame!"

I used to be on PC Since 2010-11, I remember it being bursting with activity. The Pixel section on Serebii is dying too. Probably because of X/Y having no sprites whatsoever.

Haha, I do, it's just that I haven't updated in a while. Once I finish a sprite I'm working on for the PC Community Dex, then I'll finally update. C:
