That question is too nuanced for me to answer. All I can do it look at examples of the word used in sentences and it seems like it's being used the same way that just "pursue" or "pursuit" would be used. I feel like it's either something that a native person or a linguist would be able to answer. Or maybe it's just a matter of preference and style.
Welp, this username change is going to be hard to get used to; I think I've known you as Scarf even before name changes were (temporarily) removed. XD
Nice user title graphic, by the way!
Also, I was wondering...did you ever give Mazul a type? I didn't see any listed in the original 2010 post (I can't believe it's been that long.. XD) documenting it (unless I happened to gloss over the type like 5 times); I had always assumed it was a Ghost-type Pokemon (mainly due to its appearance and creepiness)... Thanks in advance!
And it's OK, no worries; I've actually come across Pixiv prior to noticing that Perfume image, but I usually just look at the pretty pictures rather than reading the tags. XD But yeah, it could be useful for learning more Japanese, in any case.
Aw, Jigglypuff gets a happy ending then. That's good. I hate sad endings. I mean, I like them when they're done well, but I like to see people find things that make them happy, even when they're not really people and just characters.
Ah, yes, I guess I should have mentioned the website is Japanese when I first sent it. But hey, you could use it to teach yourself a few words, eh?
Haha yeah; the anime Jigglypuff's antics were quite fun to watch. Yeah; Jigglypuff has basically faded away from the Pokemon anime (as of now). Apparently, there's some great FridgeBrilliance for this, as noted below:
Why did that recurring Jigglypuff suddenly disappear after the first Advanced season? Could just be that the joke was getting old... or it could be that that time corresponds to the first time in the game where there are Pokémon naturally immune to sleep, thanks to the abilities Insomnia and Vital Spirit? Jigglypuff's whole purpose for traveling was to find someone who would listen to her song without dozing off, so she probably found some Pokémon with those abilities and sang for them full-time. - Tropers/Stardf29
..from what I read, something along the lines of this happened in AG039, during the anime's Advanced Generation saga. I still wish that Jigglypuff would return and make cameo appearances in the anime, though. BW has Pokemon Musicals (as much as I detest those :x) in Unova; I'm sure they and Jigglypuff could be a great fit for the Best Wishes saga of the Pokemon anime...
I knew I recognized something from that anime in the first image - Kyubey around the black-haired girl's neck! :cer_laugh: >.<
Ah, ok...I guess I skimmed over the tags the first time I viewed the image since most of the webpage's text seems to be rendered in Japanese, but I noticed the Perfume tag on the Perfume fanart once I looked at it again. In any case, they're still such beautiful artwork; and thank you very much for the clarification/translation!
I think I like Jigglypuff so much because of the anime. When I watched it I always loved it when Jigglypuff showed up and drew on everyone's faces. I read that there is no more Jiggles in the anime though, which makes me kind of sad even though I haven't watched the anime in forever.
That first image is some fanart from Puella Magi Madoka Magica. If it were also Perfume fanart it would probably have a 'Perfume' tag. The second one seems to be original art.
Well, Jigglypuff as a species is OK, I guess (not to mention all the ones that I've caught/plan to catch )...and the prominent Jigglypuff from the anime who draws on people is a bit cool, too. It's mainly the one from Super Smash Bros.that annoys me the most, specifically because of its annoyingly-cutesy taunts, the fact that I would rather have Mewtwo use up its character slot in Super Smash Bros.Brawl (the strange thing is, I like to think of the SSB Jigglypuff and the Pokemon anime's Jigglypuff as the same individual XD), and THOSE EYES. :cer_cry: This video pretty much sums up what I feel Jigglypuff should get every time it taunts in SSB... >.< Oh, and I also dislike all those little Foe Jigglypuff who plan to crush my dreams of becoming a Pokemon Champion/triumphing against the numerous Frontier Brains!
Haha, no worries; these Perfume gals seem great - both in music and talent; I'm getting even more interested in them. I loved their song/music video, "Spice"; the music video's concept was interesting as well (their Three Wise Monkeys pose blew over my head until I read about it on Wikipedia). :cer_boogie:
Thank you very much for the fanart and video links; I think this marks the first instance that I've seen fanart of a music video scene. :cer_laugh:
Um, additionally, if you have the time, could you possibly identify where these 2 images are from (I think they are by the same person who drew the aforementioned Perfume fanart)? At first, I thought they might be Perfume-related, but then I noticed that the hair colors are different; I'm not sure whether artistic liberty is being taken or whether Perfume wears wigs at times or what... XD Thanks in advance! :D
Awesome; thank you very much for clarifying! The video was great...although with a title like "Spring of Life" and a group name like "Perfume", I thought the video was going to take place in a scenic nature area...but boy, was I wrong. XD I really liked the robotic theme(s) present in the music video, though.
(Also, it looks like I have a new J-Pop group to start listening to.. )
