With Arceus, there is a really strong basis for someone to start a religion. The people who have abused their gift that Arceus has given them have ignited its wrath, thus it took away the gift of Pokémon. But after around a century or so has passed, it gave humanity a shred of remorse, & gave us back the gift of Pokémon, albeit in a different form.
Still people take this gift for granted, so the way I'm going with this is that people should be grateful for Arceus for forgiving us for abusing its gift in the past, & should try their hardest to regain Arceus' favor.
I don't think religion works anything like it does in the real world here. Reason being: People don't really need to rely on faith nearly as much. God's name is Arceus and it ripped open the very earth and gave us pokespirits in front of our eyes. If you go into the streets and denounce Arceus, absolutely nobody will take you seriously.
That being said, a cult as you define it seems rather unlikely. The underground might have the closest thing for Lizzy Borkson.
Yyyeesss.... but that really depends as a pokespirit wielder. Lucy for instance has a gulpin pokespirit and can therefore stomach things like wood that are not 'edible' to any normal being. There are a couple of other pokemon whose spirit fusion would justify a change in diet (though most do not) Anything that is normally edible even by humans is going to be scarce. It's basically a matter of luck to survive on scavenging.
In a sense, but not really. The only time being a loner benefits you is if you're a scavenger, and that's a deadly lifestyle regardless. Thieves and cannibals are at the top of their game in groups. The underground is a testimate to this that you would probably find interesting.
Berries are not something that would have protein no. You're thinking of beans which often contain protein. Keeping in mind however that scavenging is awfully hard and farming is also awfully hard because of thieves.
What I really meant by that statement was dead & buried. That's what it meant.
& really, it also boils down to not letting their emotions get the better of them, because if you think about it, people have been kind to each other, & thus, a lot of people that would have perished by themselves, are alive, thanks to the help of others. Humanity's weakness is its kindness & its overall sentimentality. In other words, we are too clingy with each other, no matter how useless they are in life.
I'm getting ahead of myself. Isn't their a berry that actually give protein, kind of like the soybean, in this world?
Joint posts are generally private. What concern is it of yours? o3O But yeah. Worms don't really exist in Pokemon Fallout. It was really the food shortage that was mostly responsible for people dying. You've got an entire race that rather abruptly can't feed 70% of it's population. Thieves dominated the early shortage because cannibals weren't really an issue until a bit later. Your ability to drop morality was the main thing giving you an advantage. One's ability to fight wasn't really worth much more than their ability to ward off thieves.
Then cannibals came along and violence became a lot more important. People banded together and some people went to war. Nobody ever asks where these cannibals are right now in the RP. They'd probably be surprised to find out they make up a very significant portion of the remaining population (No less than 1/4th as a rough estimate). It turns out cannibalism was a much, much healthier diet than malnutritioned vegetarianism... in the short term, which sorta heavily pushed 'natural selection' in their favor.
The reason humanity isn't extinct is because, as awful as it's methods were, it evolved to survive what could've been it's extinction. Had everyone tried to share equally everyone would have starved, no questions asked.
