Not a problem~ I'm here to help.

Alright, that's more than enough information to get me finished. Thank's once again Yellow!

Go ahead. That sounds fine. The academy is also classified as a philanthropist foundation. That is to say, non-profit. It's funded mostly by donations and internal interest. (That is to say, some staff pay out of their own pocket from their side jobs.)
I'd say that your character would likely be much more concerned about passing the exams to get in than having the money. As I mentioned before, they'd find a way to make it work. That being said, the academy isn't exactly a big spender. Most of what the academy gives a student is the buildings and teachers themselves, with food and pokecenter care being also notable. Anything in Oak Town for instance such as TMs, items in general really, non-cafeteria food, movies, all that stuff is not covered by the academy.
Hence why I suggested he'd probably have to have a guardian of some sort, even if it was one assigned to him.

Am I able to use Karen of the Indigo Elite Four briefly in my character's history? It wouldn't be anything major, just her being my character's inspiration for becoming a pokemon trainer.
And secondly, are there anyways for someone without a lot of money to get some sort of scholarship through a competition or something? Because I don't exactly think that an orphan would be able to afford it. Unless it doesn't cost anything (but I doubt that's true).

Yup! They would probably need a guardian, but they'd find a way to make that work.

Ok, one other thing. Would an orphan be accepted into the academy?

It's a very free form RP. The plot is what you make of it, is what I'd say. There are certain things I throw your way like two classes at the beginning of three days and the occasional rocket plot, but...

So uh.. I've been thinking of joining the Pokemon Trainer Academy.
Is there anything important that I should know about the RP that isn't explained in the first OOC?
March 18th, 2014 4:12 PMPkMnTrainer Yellow
Hmm... Sure! That is bound to lead to some awkward conversation.

Hey, would I be able to slightly bunny Lucy in my Fallout post? I want Collette to force herself to be dropped by Lucy, out of fear of getting eaten. Which would more likely than not lead to Collette, Trinity and Lucy all on the ground.
Is that alright with you?
March 12th, 2014 10:31 AMDansparce
Alright, I've got a much better idea of what to post now. I'll get started on it soon.
March 12th, 2014 10:12 AMPkMnTrainer Yellow
Well I figure the first thing you're going to want to do is have Collette wake up, obviously! More specifically, I'm not sure! Is she going to freak out when she wakes up being carried over someone's shoulder? Would she have anything to say about it? Maybe the effects of the attack are still hitting her pretty hard?
March 12th, 2014 12:18 AMDansparce
So uhh... I'm not entirely sure what I should post in Fallout, if at all. Any advice?

Collette is not the person Lucy is hearing. That would be a bit uncooth of me to grab your character and bunny them that hard dont'cha think?~
Also, it's /really/ dark in there. I gave hints to the species of each of the pokespirits they're wielding and clarified that at least one of them is a boy.. They're also robbing her, to clarify--I wouldn't assume they won't attack her, I'm just saying they totally haven't... yet.
But yeah. I'd say the best detailed description I could give right now is "They're vaguely humans and you can't really see more than their faces because too dark. With the exception of the one that spoke to her who is clearly a boy, their sex is a bit ambiguous. They're unkempt and perpetually grinning.
