Haha, don't get so worked up! It's not worth it! All those who are Bible-thumpers aren't worth your time.

I'll try to hold down my venom. On the bright side, I haven't broken anything yet. XD

I agree. Religion has been used more to spread hate than what it was actually created for, which was to bring good to the world. I feel as though it's so corrupt, and it's ridiculous how people still follow a book that has been translated in thousands of different ways over the years. I could literally rewrite the Bible in my own words and put anything I wanted into it, and people would believe it. Lol. It's ridiculous, but people unfortunately allow it to cloud their judgment. Don't let the argument stress you out. You know it will go nowhere. That's kinda why I never bother replying to anyone who uses the Bible to spread hate, because I know I won't be able to change their mindset.

Same. The bible is used to spread hate so often that it makes me mad. As long as people aren't using religion as an excuse to spread hate, then I am fine if they practice it. The ignorance droomph shows just makes me mad. He has the gall to talk about us being ignorant when throughout history Christianity and Catholicism have been ignorant not only towards us, but on other matters as well. It's really infuriating.

    Yes, League of Legends. ;D

I've been looking at the replies lol. I don't know why he's so caught up on the issue. It doesn't even affect him in the first place, so I don't know why he's arguing about it in the first place. I don't have any issue with those who are religious, but I do despise those who use the Bible to spread hate onto others. That's what pisses me off, and I think that's why there's such a 'general' feeling of hatred towards those who are religious from the LGBT community. Are you talking about League of Legends? Haha.

I've never been so angry at someone online. I applaud droomph for getting me angrier than my rage fests after my league games. (if the game was really bad and I was somehow doing okay or the blame game is being played.)

It's very hard to hold down my venom for him/her at the moment.

Yeah, I totally understand. I see a bright future ahead for all of us. :D

& I'm glad I could help! Coming out will probably be the most difficult thing you will ever have to do in your life. Once you're out, though, life becomes a ton more meaningful. :]

At least the idea will die out, mostly. Just like how anti-gay sentiments have been passed down through the generations through things like religion, with the pro-gay sentiments on the rise, it'll increase support for it in the future. If that makes any sense.

Thanks for telling me your story. It's very inspirational and encouraging.

Oh yes, I know. Believe me. They anger me, too. There's no point in trying to change their way of thinking, either, because they won't allow themselves to change, so yeah. Public opinion is moving more and more towards favoring rights for the LGBT community, so I guess that's all that matters.

Given your circumstances, that's probably a good idea. My mom told me those exact words, actually, when I came out to her. She told me, "You're still my child no matter what, and I'll always love you regardless." Those words were so comforting, you don't even understand. You have the right mindset, though. If someone won't accept you for who you are, then they're not worth being a part of your life. I follow the same ideology. I guess if you give them no reason to question you about it, then you're fine. My parents said they knew even before I had told them, so yeah.

These bible thumpers tend to ignite a flame of anger within me. It's sad really, but hey for centuries they have condemned us, so I guess it is only fair?

That was the plan. When I am able to support myself, I'll tell them. If they don't accept me like I think they won't, then they'll be cut out. I don't want or need people who won't accept me for me. Just because I am gay, doesn't change the fact that I am their child and if they don't see it that way, then it's no use to keep them in my life and force them to see it in a different light. They haven't asked.

I've been bashing all these 'hater Bible-thumpers' on Facebook since yesterday haha.

That's really unfortunate. I'm sorry to hear that. It's really sad when people aren't accepting of something they don't even understand. Those reasons are why the LGBT community is so tight-knit. We have to stick together because of all the difficulties we have to face. People don't understand that you don't choose to be something other than heterosexual; rather, you're born gay, lesbian, bi, etc... Why would anyone choose to be something that is so ridiculed by society? But hey, I am very proud of how far I've come and of who I am, and I wouldn't change anything about myself for the world. Accepting yourself for who you truly are is one of the best feelings in the world. I love men, and I love being gay, and that's all there is to it, haha. But about your situation, if you really think your parents would kick you out of the house or whatever if you did tell them you were gay, I would wait till you're financially able to support yourself if/before you tell them anything. Have they ever asked you before if you were gay?

Yup, it's coming to the age where the "Bible" isn't much of a foundation anymore. :D

I know they won't accept me because I have heard them express their thoughts about it My dad told me his thoughts while we were watching a movie. There was a gay couple kissing and he told me that it was disgusting, that it was unnatural, that it was weird to be gay. I exited the room once I heard. My mother and my aunt have talked about it. She thinks it is some kind of disease and that gay people should be put into hospitals.

You're right! :D Look how far we've come... there's no stopping us now. All the haters can sit down because it's only getting better for us from here. xD

Listen.. I'm 19, and it took me this long (at least in my eyes) to find the courage to come out to my parents, and I couldn't have even done it without the help from friends. I actually just came out on June 13th, so it was just a few weeks ago. Honestly, you'll know when it's the right time. I felt the same way you did because I thought my parents wouldn't accept me for who I truly was, which was why I was hiding my sexuality from them all along, but in the end, they were really supportive of me and now I'm enjoying life a lot better. Why do you think your parents wouldn't accept you? Are they really religious? Coming out is one of the most exhilarating feelings in the world. While you're actually doing it, it feels as though the world is crumbling down on you, but once you're over with it, life really does become a lot better.

Hey, fantasies are good. Plus, it could happen in our life times. You'll never know. We just have to believe and if we can, work towards it. We can do it! ;D

Ah I see. I don't have the guts to come out to my parents. I already know their feelings on gay people and if I were to tell them, I will probably end up living under a box.

We're making progress though. :D Gay marriage definitely needs to be legalized in all states because, well, that's only fair. I know it's legal in a little over ten states now, so we're making progress. I hope that we will see it legalized in the entire country in our lifetimes.. :] That's just a fantasy for now.

& haha, yes I am. :] I just recently came out to my parents, so yeah.. and don't worry! That's not really a private question lol.
